I'm pretty sure you are implying that we all die at some point right? Anyways, you are a smart guy from what I've read of your posts on here, you know what I meant I'm sure.
Yeah that is part of it because we all are going to die at some point so terminally-ill is relative to the forward looking duration.
The other part is that it seems illogical to me that we base our approval of suicide based solely on the statistical probability that someone may die within a defined period of time.
A - If you are terminally ill there is a
high probability that you will die within a year.
B - if you are NOT terminally ill there is a
low probability that you will die within a year.
It's OK for A to pursue assisted suicide, it's not OK for B. However there is no consideration of desire, pain level, personal choice, etc.

The big picture for me is I don't understand how we live in a world where people not only tolerate, they actually request governments that control our most fundamental rights.
What we can eat
What we can drink
What we can wear
And even how and when we can die.
I have no idea why people are so pompous that think they have the right to control those functions for anyone other than themselves.
