supply and demand.. the demand for gas went down.. eventually the prices did too.. they were forced to sell for as much as they could get for crude oil.

cheapest ive seen is 2.75 around my area.

will it go back up? probably.. i hope not tho.
Uhhhh...no. The supply and demand for gas never changes, as EVERYONE relies on gas. The supply is "dwindling", but several gas juugernauts have said "we have plenty of oil".

The reason the prices are dropping is becuase of the election. They will be back up by the 1st of the year.

"uhhh no" right back at you....

“The weaker demand observed for the first six months of the year continued in July,” said API statistics manager Ron Planting. “Changes in consumer behavior have essentially erased five years of growth in gasoline demand.”

Crude's losses Wednesday came as U.S. energy supplies swelled, reflecting both persistently weak demand and a recovery of Gulf Coast energy output following shutdowns prompted by Hurricane Ike last month.

Oil market traders bid down the price for oil on the news, seeing the excess supplies as another sign that U.S. consumers and business are cutting back on energy use.

"There is still a lot of demand concerns in the global economy and that's going to continue translating into a struggling energy market," said Tom Bentz, analyst at BNP Paribas Commodity Futures in New York.

yeah definitely not demand huh? must be the election!..... hah

LOL @ this craptastic story....do you believe everything you read? "Weaker demand"? Yes, becuase there are magically LESS cars than ever before and the weather is still hot outside. Not to mention, factories have decided to shut down and not produce materials to build shit...like CARS.

Look at past election times...gas has dropped EVERYTIME. Its not rocket science, bud.

the shit i posted is not just from that link, its from alot of other places.

Demand has been down for the most part that is why the prices are low, and with the whole going green thing getting bigger than ever i dont see gasses lasting at the rediculous prices they were, if people have to they will take public transportation to save money, there are also alot more motorcycles/moped scooters on the road which are gas savers averaging 45-100mpg

And? It makes no difference where it came from and from how many different sources.

Just so you know, a half empty bus...uses 5 times the amount of gas a full car does. Keep that in mind. Buses are only a "green solution" if they are filled up.

there are also alot more motorcycles/moped scooters on the road which are gas savers averaging 45-100mpg
And thats great, but with gas prices DROPPING, those same people are gonna hop RIGHT back into their SUV's.

Thats fine if you dont want to accept the fact that gas is falling due to elections...i dont give a shit. Just wait and see.
