The Mayweather vs Cotto story, is similar to Tyson vs Holyfield story
By Kevin Davis

Time sure does repeats it's self, once again a mega fight that should have happened years ago is happening now. Seems like it was just a few months ago but it's been 4 years, since the biggest fight the public wanted to see was Floyd Mayweather vs Miguel Cotto. Now today Cotto has been humbled and Mayweather is still atop the fight game.

Remember when Mike Tyson was suppose to fight Evander Holyfield and the world was a buzz, before the sentence ruined the fight and it never happened when the public thought it should. Tyson served almost five years in prison. While gone Holyfield was humbled by a few fighters and was told to retire. Tyson came back and took over the boxing game once again but the public wanted Tyson vs Lennox Lewis, what they got was Tyson vs Holyfield.

The fans said the fight was just a chance to collect money off Holyfield name he had no chance, but what they didn't know is that Holyfield had been wanting this fight for a long time. He wanted to prove that he wasn't afraid of Tyson. We all know what happened next. History was made and with this fight here you have Cotto who has been counted out, humbled and still he has the fire to want to take this fight because he want to prove to the world he can beat Floyd Mayweather.

This is how great fights are made, one guy wanting to fight another guy just for the fact of knowing who is better to them, not for anyone else but themselves. Tyson took Holyfield lightly, I doubt Mayweather will make that mistake.

hopefully shane doesn't fight like a hoe this time.

I think at best it may resemble cotto vs mosley a little bit. canelo is kinda like cotto in a sense that he boxes and isn't a brawler and he'll fight smart. shane will have to bring the pressure to him

Roy Jones was just on KC sports radio 810 wHB and said Mayweather and Pac will never fight..........they asked him who's fault it would be and he said it is Mayweathers fault.

And Im sure his opinion doesn't matter cause he's just an ex-pro boxer who had a great career.

everybody in the world knows mayweather is scared to fight manny
Yep, it's Mayweather faults that Manny didn't want to give blood in 2009, and it's Mayweather fault that $40 million is not enough for a guys that makes $25 million a fight. LOL.. One guy keeps on making excuses on why he can't fight and it's not Mayweather.. Manny I want a 50/50 split, but Manny you don't even get a 50/50 split in your own in-house fights. lol

People got to understand that Mayweather has been listening to the talk about him being scared/ducking Cotto for years. Mayweather is going to beat the brakes off Cotto and make a point tomorrow night. 9th or 10th round TKO.

NOT THIS SHIT AGAIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The truth hurts pimping. Mayweather is going to make biggest guaranteed purse in boxing history of $32 million plus PPV money, and the other guy that fights in June will make $25 million and that's including PPV money. So are you telling me that turning down $40 million to make $25 million was good business?? You from my state of AZ (West Side Phoenix Stand up) pimpin so I won't hold it against you, but don't let the hate for 'Money' Mayweather blind you to the facts that the other guy turned down a career high payday to fight another guy moving up in weight.

that was a lightweight epic stare down haha.

Mosley came in overweight but came in the second try 154 on the dot, so he's good. I knew floyd would come in light, that's smart.

Here is the video of cotto-floyd

Nazim Richardson Catches BAD Gloves in Mayweather, Cotto, Alvarez, Mosley Fights

By Shawn Craddick

Nazim Richardson has that good eye to catch stuff that just isn't right. He found out that Antonio Margarito had loaded gloves when his fighter Sugar Shane Mosley was about to fight him. Nazim caught it in the dressing room. This time it seems that Nazim is catching more things. While going over the gloves that the fighters are going to wear tomorrow, he noticed it had a plastic covered thumb. The maker of the gloves are Grant. Anytime you have plastic covered thumbs they cause easy cuts and they burn when you get hit by it. Cotto stood firm and said they will not be using it.

Grant will apparently be flying in gloves overnight to the fight. These covered thumbs with be all leather. Not sure how the mix up came about but Nazim had caught the mishap. Some media and fans were wondering if this was pure accident or intentionally. Some have gone as far to say he wore it in the Mayweather vs Mosley fight but Nazim denied it. He would have caught it. Nazim just happened to be looking over the gloves. All four fighters were going to be using this type of glove. Not just Mayweather and Cotto, but also Alvarez and Mosley. Needless to say, it will be resolved by fight time tomorrow. What else could happen?

It's also being reported that after Mosley was 1/2lb overweight he came back after a jog and weighed in at 154lbs. Shane Mosley went on to say that he had a bad scale he was using before he stepped on the official scale. He's good now and he will be fighting Saul Alvarez for this Championship belt tomorrow. Stay tuned.

NSAC Reveals Floyd Mayweather to Make $32 Million Guarantee, Largest Purse EVER in History

By Shawn Craddick

Nevada State Athletic Commission has revealed that Floyd Mayweather is guaranteed to bring in $32 Million dollars. Miguel Cotto is guaranteed $8 Million. Mayweather vs Cotto will be fighting for the Super Welterweight Championship Saturday May 5th. The biggest purse before this was when Mike Tyson fought Evander Holyfield in 1997 for $30 Million. Floyd has set a record and not only that, it's unheard of for a non heavyweight to make that much money guranteed.

Floyd Mayweather and Miguel Cotto weighed in this afternoon. Floyd weighed in at 151lbs which is his highest weight ever and Miguel Cotto weighed in right at the super welterweight limit of 154lbs. On the undercard Saul Alvarez weighed 154lbs and Shane Mosley weighed 154 1/2. He has two hours to come back and make weight. Floyd Mayweather and Miguel Cotto gave the fans what they wanted, a heated staredown with neither man backing up. After awhile they began to talk smack to each other before they were split up.

Floyd Mayweather will use this as a measuring stick as to why Pacquiao does not deserve the lions share of his the anticipated matchup. If Floyd and Pacquiao come to an agreement, then the $40 Million guarantee that he is offering Pacquiao will make Manny the second man only to Mayweather to receive the highest guaranteed purse. I'm sure on the upscale Mayweather is looking to make between $70 - $100 for that fight, if it ever takes place. Stay tuned to see the match between Floyd vs Cotto tomorrow night on PPV.

lol. Manny groupie's are mad about that $32 million plus PPV money. But I thought Mayweather was not on ODLH level business and money wise. But yet this man keeps on breaking records.

who is mad? more power to him. what floyd and his fans don't realize is that since he is co-promoting and gives golden boy a smaller % than other fighters have to, it makes it seem he is GENERATING more money than Pacquiao, which isn't true they generate roughly the same, the difference is pac gives more money to top rank and there lies the problem. no one should care what pac does with his money. if he wants to give 20 something percent to top rank that's his business not floyd or the fans. but that's floyd's way of not making the fight. he'll act like giving him $40 million is doing him some favor while he'd walk away with $90-$100 million and obviously that's not fair. pac would have to give 20 something percent of that to top rank, which would be less than his guarantee would be otherwise. nice trickery by floyd.

It's not Mayweather fault that Manny is doing dumb business with Top Rank. Be a BOSS like Mayweather, Cotto , ODLH and take control of his own career. Why the fuck is he worried about what Mayweather is making when he's getting by far his biggest payday at $40 million. ODLH made $53 million vs Mayweather's $27 million and Floyd was the number 1 P4P fighter and undefeated. You bow down to the big dog to make the fight.
