Cotto having heavy hands and Floyd being the great defensive fighter that he is will make it hard for cotto to land solid clean punches especially seeing how cotto isn't all that fast but 1 punch slides in and cotto will be attacking.. Also since he's coming back from a win he will be more confident which will make him just that more dangerous for Floyd. I still wish for Floyd to win and Canelo to win as well I wanna see em go at it. If not I would like Ortiz- Floyd 2.. And hope Ortiz don't do some dumb shit to fuck up his win.

^^Roy Jones Jr was 35 when milk dud head Traver knocked him out. Mayweather is 35 going into this fight. I'm just saying. I have a feeling this is going to be an all action fight till the end.

I expect Floyd to win on points, but a lot of people are counting Cotto out completely. I think it will be more competitive than people think. Well, I'm hoping it will.

this is true. but the difference to me is floyd is insanely technically sound whereas Jones wasn't very technical at all, he relied heavily on his amazing natural reflexes. once those reflexes started to fade it was a wrap for jones since he didn't really have the technical skills to fall back on.

that's why hopkins has lasted so long is because he's so sound and smart. floyd I think can have longevity too into his 40s if he wanted too.

Mayweather Respects Cotto, But Feels He Can Be Tricked

Floyd Mayweather Jr. insists he has the ultimate respect for May 5th opponent Miguel Cotto - but is supremely confident he will extend his record to 43-0 as a pro when they clash in Las Vegas. The 35-year-old has been granted the fight before starting a 90-day jail term on June 1 for domestic abuse and he is determined that he will maintain his perfect record.

"I respect Miguel Cotto as a man always. I think he has a beautiful family. I don't really know him, but he seems like a cool guy. But yes, I respect him as a man, what else can I say. Come May 5th he's going to have to make me respect his boxing skills. Every fighter you have to earn that; that's nothing you can't just get from me. Marquez he earned my respect, he made me earn his respect, a couple other guys made me earn their respect, Shane Mosley made me respect his power. But when it's all said and done I'm pretty sure they respect in my fighting skills also," Mayweather said.

But 31-year-old Cotto (37-2, 30KOs), at 154 pounds and clearly a bigger fighter than Mayweather has taken on since Oscar De La Hoya exactly five years ago on May 5, is considered a dangerous opponent.

However, Mayweather believes Cotto can be mentally tampered with.

"Well I just say like this, it was one mind trick when Bob Arum made him fight Pacquiao at a catchweight. He fell for that didn't he? Another mind trick is when his corner man didn't thoroughly check out the hand refs of Antonio Margarito. He fell for that didn't he? So if a guy fall for certain tricks he'll fall for it again," Mayweather said.
