just so everyone knows "fighthype.com" is a pro-mayweather website, in fact it's the only site he'll do interviews with because he says "they keep it real" i.e they will never say anything negative about him (the owner is a pro-floyd guy, real close with the mayweathers).

but yeah, you should have just posted this in the other countless floyd-pac threads, no need to make a new thread from a biased source.

And to be fair there are plenty of biased pacquiao writers as will, like Ronnie Nathanielsz for example is the leader of Pactard writers in the world. Ben Thompson is like the mayweather version of him.

JMM - Manny Pacquiao is good. Floyd Mayweather Jr. is better.

By Brett Okamoto (contact)

Tuesday, July 27, 2010 | 6:56 p.m.

Manny Pacquiao is good. Floyd Mayweather Jr. is better.

At least that’s the opinion of one of their common opponents.

Juan Manuel Marquez made his grand arrival Tuesday at the Mandalay Bay hotel lobby in preparation for his rematch with Juan Diaz this weekend.

With the reality still settling in that Pacquiao and Mayweather will not fight in 2010, Marquez offered his opinion on which of the two would win if they ever meet.

“I think Mayweather,” Marquez said. “He has the great defense. He can move, move, move. Pacquio has the power, but Mayweather has the intelligence, the speed and the counterpunches.”

Marquez (50-5-1, 37 KO) has faced Pacquiao twice, fighting him to a draw in 2004 and dropping a narrow split decision in 2008. He lost a lopsided unanimous decision to Mayweather last September.

Although he’s winless in three tries against the widely considered top two fighters in the world, Marquez still believes he’s got what it takes to beat them both.

The Mexican fighter feels as though he was robbed of a win both times against Pacquiao (51-3-2, 38 KO) and says that had Mayweather (41-0, 25 KO) dropped to lightweight in their fight instead of forcing him to go up, the outcome would have been different.

“Mayweather is a great fighter, but he was very heavy for me,” said Marquez, whose only fight above 135 pounds was against Mayweather. “Yes, I think if Mayweather had fought at 135 or 140 it would have been a different fight.”

Not only did Mayweather not fight Marquez at lightweight, he didn’t fight at the agreed-upon 144 pounds, either.

On the day of the weigh-in, Mayweather came in at 146 pounds. Although the infraction cost him $600,000 of his purse, Marquez believes he did it on purpose.

By the night of the fight, Marquez guesses Mayweather outweighed him by about 15 pounds.

“I think Mayweather didn’t want to lose more weight because it’s very important,” Marquez said. “He took that advantage. At first I was surprised and I felt very angry, but I don’t know what I could have done.”

Marquez doesn’t mind talking about the disappointing outcomes of the Pacquiao fights or Mayweather’s decision to ignore the weigh limit — in fact, he smiles as he does.

Even at 35, Marquez is entering an exciting part of his career.

His lightweight title fight against Diaz will be a rematch of one of the most entertaining bouts of 2009.

Should he come away from the weekend with a win, Marquez is expected to move up in weight and take on junior welterweight champion Amir Khan. The opportunity would give him a shot at a world title in a third weight division.

Adding to the excitement is that his younger brother, Rafael, also has a title fight scheduled. Rafael is set to face Juan Manuel Lopez on Sept. 18 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.

“It’s great for me and great for my family,” said Marquez on his brother’s success. “I talked to my brother this morning and I felt very happy because he has another great fight. I’m happy he took it.”

Marquez says his goal is to string together enough wins to force Pacquiao into fighting him again, although a third meeting between the two looks unlikely at this point.

Whether or not he receives that coveted matchup or not, it seems clear Marquez has no intention of hanging up his gloves. And with fights still available to him like the one this weekend, no one can blame him.

“I feel great. My body keeps saying to me, ‘more,’” Marquez said. “If it ever is saying, ‘no more,’ I’ll retire.”

This is a thread where floyd fans can gather around in a circle jerk and talk about how pacquiao is to blame for everything while king floyd in all his glorious and majestic righteousness was once again the victim in this dirty sport called boxing. Yes, this is an epic thread full of fantasy, disillusion and borderline lunacy. Drink the Kool-Aid everyone.

So I'm concluding after they both agreed to fight in principle on March 13th, it was Manny who first requested some "very minor additional" requests to be met, not Floyd. It was the 10 million dollar per pound penalty. Floyd agreed.... then team Floyd had a "very minor additional" request of their own to be met which was Olympic Style Drug Testing. Both Michael Koncz and Freddy Roach said Pac wouldn't have a problem with it. But it turns out he did! He didn't want to get blood tested too close to the fight.

Pacquiao only wanted his blood tested at the kick off press conference (which would have been months before) and right after the fight, citing reasons like getting tested too close to fight time would make him weak....

Then he gets busted out.... Pacquiao was video taped getting blood drawn 24 days before knocking out Ricky Hatton..... LMFAO, so he had no choice but to agree to 24 days.

Mayweather agreed to fight and Manny pulled out because he didn't want to be drug tested. But to act like Mayweather is scared or ducking Manny is total bullshit and I proved with facts that Mayweather agreed to fight and Manny pulled out. End of story. Will they ever fight I don't know. But we as boxing fans have a lot of good fights coming up starting tomorrow.

Pacquiao ready for Mayweather

BY EDDIE G. ALINEA

IF Floyd Mayweather Jr. really wants to fight Manny Pacquiao, the Filipino boxing hero is more than ready to oblige.

Last Tuesday, Mayweather, in the second and last day of a media tour in New York to promote his September 17 fight with southpaw Victor Ortiz, hinted he may fight the Filipino star next, saying: "If I’m able to negotiate a Pacquiao fight, it could happen."

In an interview last night, Pacquiao said: "Nakahanda na ako, matagal na. Kilala na ako ng lahat ng tao, laban lang kahit kaninong mapili ng promoter ko."

Boxing buffs around the world are convinced Mayweather chose to face Ortiz in his comeback fight because, like Pacquiao, Ortiz is a southpaw.

Even Pacquiao agreed, saying: "The fact that Mayweather chose Ortiz as his opponent in his comeback trail only means one thing: He’s preparing for me because like me, Ortiz is a southpaw. Kaliwete si Ortiz at kaliwete ako. Hindi naman tayo bobo para hindi mag-isip na pinaghahandaan niya ako,."

The Mayweather-Ortiz fight will be held in Las Vegas, with the American staking his undefeated record (41-0) against the reigning World Boxing Council welterweight champion who has a 29-2-2 record.

"My ultimate goal is to take the title from Victor Ortiz. Next, we move on to Manny Pacquiao, then we move on to the next," Mayweather said as the crowd cheered.

"He stressed he "only wanted to fight the biggest and the best out there" and followed that up with the words: "Manny Pacquiao, yes, you’re’ next."

Mayweather, however, clarified his much-awaited battle with Pacquiao would only happen if the Filipino agrees to an Olympic-style drug test. Negotiations for earlier fights between the two fell apart due to drug-testing protocol.

"Hopefully Manny Pacquiao steps up to the plate and takes the test so we can fight," Mayweather said. "I’m waiting for the fight to happen. I’m taking one step at a time."

Before his fight with Pacquiao could happen, however, Mayweather has to deal with legal problems, including charges from an incident with an ex-girlfriend that could bring up to 34 years in prison, plus a defamation suit filed by Pacquiao.

Mayweather and his camp had claimed before that Pacquiao had been taking performance enhancing drugs, a claim the Filipino star said damaged his reputation. The American wants blood tests close to the date of a fight, a requirement that Pacquiao had steadfastly refused. The blood tests are not required by an US boxing oversight body.

LMFAO.... "Manny Pacquiao, yes you're next"
