What I got to say is :

Pharoh, man did you get the message I sent to you a couple weeks back bra ?, I aint tryin to put all these suckas up on shit but Little D. did an interview for a magazine, I got the shit. I said earlier this year that a friend of mine went to high school with Little D.. My partna tell me he went to high school with Little D. and he said they both finished high school in 1986, my parta said D. had a BMW, a Maserati and that D.'s main girl was named Elizabeth. My partna also said Little D. was a vegatarian. He also mentioned one of his friend's found $10000 in a phone booth that was inside a brown paper bag and my partnas friend returned it to D. and D. didn;t give dude shit just thanked him. In this article Little D. said he didn't really get started until 11th grade when a friend of his moved into some apartments on Mcarthur where crack was being sold 24/7 and Little D.'s partna asked D. to buy a 16th and it was on from there. Little D. said he first heard of crack in Junior High. Little D. mentioned he had a Maserati, and a BMW just like my friend said, If you go back and check your messages you will see what magazine that I told you about that Little D. did an interview for, not only that Little D. got the cover story. So it don't look like Little D. dropped out after 7th grade as my older partna that graduated from Fremont High in 1986 is solid as fuck, and says D. went to Fremont. My partna tell me bout B. Bishette, T. Washington, R. Jeter who's cousin is Q-Tip, Fox and he upped me on shit about Ant Flowers and Slo Mo Smith in 1996. I really don't want to drop names so the people who know will know who I'm talkin bout. Now gettin to yall's debate I see it like this Rudy Henderson was a wholesale supplier, his name didn't ring as big a bell on the streets as Felix Mitchell's because Rudy's thing wasn't sewing up hella spots and breakin shit down any lower than keys, while Felix's crew the 6-9 Mob was funkin with The Family and renegade members who tried to start their own crews, plus other smaller organizations leavin' more blood on the streets. Felix Mitchell was there to give back to the community, he had businesses in the community and employed impoverished people in the communitee who through dope including emplying kids as lookouts, and dressed flashy and drove a flashy red Ferrari. Felix employed people from the 6-9, putting money in their pockets. Felix left a legacy for future kingpins to follow. Felix used methods the feds aint seen up to that point, and had a 11 to 13 year run in the game. Yeah Henderson may have made more money, but Michell infuenced more people, and paved the way for future successful crews as Mitchell created the success model on how to run a criminal enterprise like a corperation. Plus look at Mitchell's funeral it was televised around the USA and it was beyond lavish with 10's of thousands of onlookers. Mitchell influenced every major player in Oakland from Little D., Black, Ant Flowers, Slo Mo, Pondo, Big Harv etc., ect. Henderson may have generated more money, but Mitchell kept the his name ringin' in life and in death. Plus the estimated 50 to 20 million dollars per year that his organization was bringin' in aint no kind of chump change. Felix Mitchell's name is like royalty in the streets. You can ask the Oakland Tribune, the Police and Feds, who was a bigger impact Felix Mitchell or Rudy Henderson and I'm sure they will say Felix Mitchell as he impacted the streets more. Now Henderson's impact may have put tons of shit on the streets creating a domino effect and one can argue a good case for Henderson, but ask around as most will say Mitchell made the streets more violent, also removing him from the game left the streets more violent as drug prices went down, murders went up, more crews attempted to sew up streets, one man's word no longer means shit as there is less diplomacy in settling disputes all of this as the king left his thrown and everyone is vying for a piece of the action, whenever this occurs anywhere in the USA the feds call this the Felix Mitchell paradox.

Late 70's>Early 80's Oakland Underworld Scene>>>
mad skillz said:
In the 70’s and ‘80’s the Lucky Lion was a notorious underworld hangout spot. Every pimp, player, mack, hustler, drug dealer and anyone else into something crooked could be found in there right beside the hard working everyday man. Jheri Curls, finger waves and ‘Lord Jesus’ hairstyles dotted the clubs interior, while the flashing lights from the disco ball illuminated the shadows of people sipping champagne and secretly snorting cocaine.

At one table could be the gentlemen drug kingpin Felix Mitchell, head of the then infamous 69 Mob, surrounded by his people. Somewhere else in the house on the same night seated at another table could be Rhythm and Blues musician turned cocaine cowboy Mickey Mo, head of a rival organization called ‘The Family’. Across from them could be members of the notorious Ward Brothers (Ted, Frank and Jimmy) ever see the 70’s flick ‘The Mack’? All three of the brothers were in it – they were pimps. Somewhere in between the clouds of cigar smoke and whatever else would no doubt be undercover law enforcement.

Besides cocaine Oakland was more so famous at that time for being the birthplace of the Black Panther Party. But by the ‘70’s and 80’s the Panther Party was over. Huey Newton had a raging cocaine addiction. Sometime during the fall of the Panthers, Huey took to extorting drug dealers. Pushers had to pay a tax to the party in order to operate in the city. However, like any other group of Americans, Black drug dealers took serious exception to paying tax to anyone. Therefore they went to war.

According to legend, Huey Newton, high or sober didn’t mind a good fight. In fact from what I hear he went looking for fights. As crowded as the Lucky Lion would be with pimps and drug dealers (who couldn’t stand him) Huey would go there with a gentleman in tow named Big Hurd – 6’8 and strong. So dig this atmosphere: Felix Mitchell at one table, Mickey Mo at another and Huey across from them.

Now like I said, Huey was extorting drug dealers back then, not just any drug dealers mind you, but those drug dealers. Guns were pulled, tables were turned over, shots were fired it was like the Wild West.

Right next door to the Lucky Lion was an establishment called the Edgewater Sex/Swingers Motel. Now you can only imagine with all the pimps, drug dealers and gangsters right next door what was going on at the Edgewater.

stories I heard about the fights and champagne and cocaine. I remember the pictures in people’s houses of groups of guys with finger waves and heavy-lidded eyes, posing while flashing their jewelry and fat stacks of money. Photos of Felix Mitchell and his crew of lieutenants seated at a table smiling for the camera while holding up glasses of bubbly. It must’ve been a good life.

Rudolph Rudy Henderson 85-87 Exzample of "Felix Mitchell Paradox"
Rudolph Rudy Henderson was indicted by a federal grand jury following a massive three-countyraid in 1987. He rose to prominence in the narcotics world, investigators said, when he took over the Oakland cocaine trade after notorious drug lord Felix Mitchell was sent to prison in 1985.The search hit 20 addresses, using information obtained from a court-approved wire tap on phones at a North Oakland house that federal agents said was the nerve center of Henderson's drug operation. In one of the searches, at a Danville address, officers found firearms and what appeared to be a ledger of drug sales.Henderson was indicted on 29 counts of selling cocaine and illegal weapons possession. He also was charged with operating a continuing criminal enterprise, which carried a potential life sentence.

In 1988, the mentally disabled brother of Rudy Henderson Sr. was shot and killed by his own father after an argument in the family's Oakland hills home.

In January 1989, he changed his plea to guilty of cocaine possession in a plea bargain. He agreed to hand over his million-dollar Sonoma County estate and his vintage automobile collection to the feds. Money from the sale was used to offset $512,000 in income taxes Henderson owed, the government said.He was sentenced in April 1989 to 25 years in prison and fined $200,000. His sister, Carolyn, and four other members of his operation were sentenced the same day.

After his conviction, his property was seized and put up for auction along with his prized collection of vintage automobiles.

Daryl Reid (aka Lil D')
mad skillz said:
Now in Oakland back then dudes used to call him 'Derrl'.

Daryl Reid was an urban legend that I met on a few occasions. Being a short dude my damn self, it was a pleasure to meet a short dude that inspired fear.

The main thing I can tell you about that guy is this: when he was with his boys he was easy going and relaxed, alone, he took on another persona. For one thing his voice would drop to a low growl and he wouldn't speak loudly he spoke so that you and you alone could hear him. In my few dealings with the man, I was easily able to tell how he developed his reputation. Although I personally didn't experience it, I could see that the man (when he wanted to be) could be a bully.

Daryl Reid was the first of the new jack crack cocaine kingpins that I knew of. He had a reputation that proceeded him for sure. There was an infamous party he threw for himself at the Turf Club that people talked about for years.

At that time there were alot of young dudes my age all over the country rolling just like Little Daryl. There was Anthony Flowers (Oakland), James Holly (Oakland), Danny Dan (Brooklyn), Fat Cat (Queens) and a bunch of others. It was an interesting time to be young and black. I will definitely be writing about those characters and that period in time real soon.
The Flowers
Anthony Ant Flowers
Joseph "Jo Jo" Flowers

Emanuel Lacy and Anthony Flowers organization, which was responsible for more than 30 murders in the Oakland, California area, the DEA worked with the FBI, INS, U.S. Marshals Service and the Oakland Police Department to dismantle this violent cocaine trafficking organization.

10-04-1995
U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration said a suspected Oakland drug kingpin who has been a fugitive for more than a year was arrested September 28 at a San Francisco Giants game in Denver.
DEA said Emanuel Lacy, who faces trial in San Francisco on a 25-count indictment for drug trafficking, was scalping tickets when Denver police and DEA agents closed in on him at the Giants-Colorado Rockies baseball game.Lacy, 31, did not resist arrest.

December 1996, Flowers was convicted of
conspiracy to distribute more than 11 pounds of cocaine in Oakland. Fourother men also were convicted.

1998>>'Reckless Disregard' For The Constitutional Rights Of Alleged Oakland
Cocaine Kingpin Anthony Flowers, And Dismissed The Most Severe Charge
Against Flowers - Operating A Continuing Criminal Enterprise, Which Carried
A Mandatory Minimum Sentence Of 20 Years In Prison)

March 2005>>
ALAMEDA — The brother of notorious Oakland cocaine kingpin Anthony Flowers was arrested Wednesday after a bizarre but mostly peaceful standoff with police, authorities said. Joseph "Jo Jo" Flowers, 32, was chargedwith resisting arrest after he locked himself inside his car for 45 minutes and refused to talk to police.Officers were trying to arrest him on two separate outstanding warrants, the most serious a probation violation.

Joseph "Jo Jo" Flowers once refered to as the "Suge Knight-of the Bay" was a Main Influence in the Mid to Late 90's Oakland Rap Scene.

[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica]The dealers inspired alot of jealousy; at that time to see a young brother of 16, 17, 18, 19 years old with jewels and cars and all that was an awesome thing. Because these would be people that you grew up with and then you'd hear about them and see them and be like 'Whoa"
These guys would be the envy of damn everyone. They appeared to be living a good life with all the money, hoes and clothes but the flip side was the cops and jealousy. One too many cats got took out for trying to rule **** or take **** over. It was an interesting time. I don't think we'll ever see that kind of thing again. Maybe I'm old, but you don't see guys rock it like Little Daryl Reid of Oakland, or Fat Cat, or Supreme, or Michael Harris - you don't see that kind of thing like you did in the 80's. Guys with money and the whole nine and really be flossy about it. They can't because the FEDS would be on their asses!

Crack altered the sound of hip hop forever; what we are seeing now is the lingering effects of the crack culture.

My bad I meant Davis not Smith

Ohh my bad Pharoah I meant to say Slo Mo Davis AKA Kevin Davis.I wasn't thinking when I wrote Smith (long day at work). My partna said he was cool with Little D. but Slo Mo was his partna for real. Not that he was involved in the game with him, but that they were friends. I heard Slo was hella cool and could talk to you about anything. He also mentioned someone named ReeRee but I didn't wanna ask to many questions.Yeah Pharoah did you pick up the Don Diva mag and what was your opinion on the article ?

Yeah he did get a life sentence.

Yeah I heard bout that too, they said he was movin 50 to 100 keys a week out of state, using pagers to communicate. They caught his people with like 45 plus keys and raided Slo Mo's mom's home and found more shit. Yeah I was aware that he got life or I should say my partna who was friend's with Slo Mo in the 1980's was aware that Slo Mo got life.

This is the area that's faulty. Rudy was already making big moves in the Coke dept. Big Fee had that Heroin and battled with Milton & Harv over them Heroin spots.

They all dabbled in both but..
Rudy=King of Coke
Felix=King of Heroin

Micky Moore got a book out talking about his years in the game. Its called The Man & its hella hard 2 find. I guess if u in Oakland its not hard. My ex-wifes auntie is from East Oakland & knew him personally & he gave her a copy. I remember being @ her house reading it. I gotta find that book. I'm suprised no one ever wrote a book on Felix Mitchell.
