Fab is under rated as a freestyle artist, but way overrated as an artist over all (in the Bay atleast ). But Fab has what most don't have in the game...hustle and charisma. He will get his chance based on his personality and at the end of the day sometimes that's all you need.

FAB is far from overrated as an artist. He can't be overrated too many fucking people hate on him.

People see him as overrated because he's the one up & coming star in the bay and he hasn't gone nationwide, that's all. The problem is he's been up & coming since 2003, and people in the bay know that.

As soon as he's in the T.I., Lil Wayne, Kanye level, then all the haters will stop cause he'll have proven himself. Is he gonna get that far? I doubt it. All 3 of those, have been working since the 90s and they have the backup of Atlantic(T.I.), Birdman/Cash Money (Wayne), and Def-Jam/Jay-z(Kanye). Who does Fabby got? Thizz? You're kidding me. Thizz is terrible in management and talent. So I'm a Fabby Davis Jr. fan, but seems like he needs better direction. Cause the whole Ghost Ride It situation with the video, SHOULD NOT HAVE HAPPENED! Fire whoever overlooked the copyright situation of the car. If not, I'll just wait for Mistah Fabby Davis Junior - Recess volume 32 in 2011.

End of the day, it's the "front office" that needs to get looked at. Not specifically HIS managers or co-managers, but in football terms, he fumbled this year with "Da Yellow Bus Rydah". I ain't talking about quality of songs either.

^^^All the reasons that you named about why FAB probably wont get to T.I. level is precisely why he isn't overrated. Overrating somebody means you're giving props to somebody that doesn't deserve them. I never hear people doing that to FAB. Just because he hasn't made it yet doesn't make him overrated, it just means he hasn't reached his potential. You're talking about two different subjects.

I see your point and I don't want to take too long but I think you're not accurate in what overrated means.

Here's the definition.

Overrate - to rate, value, or estimate too highly

Has nothing to do with giving props to somebody that doesn't deserve them. It has to do with the assumption that something/someone is valued higher based off fact, rumor, etc. I see what you're saying so lemme put it this way instead, Mistah F.A.B's future career potential as a nationwaide artist is overrated. The Mistah F.A.B. "brand" is overrated. His talent is not, he has justified his talent. The only reason I say this is because he hasn't proven himself yet, even though he's getting all this hype.

Lol giving props to somebody that dont deserve is the EXACT same thing as rating them too high. Cmon man I know you see the correlation. People say Lil' Wayne is overrated, not because he's been in the game for 10 years, but because of his skill level. People think he gets props and recognition that he doesn't deserve.

You are right FAB hasn't proven himself, in my opinion that makes him underrated. How can you be overrated if everyone thinks you are trash. Not reaching your potential makes you a dissappointment, not overrated.

There is a correlation, that's why I'm CHANGING my statement. I think it's because IMO, there's more riders than haters. I guess that's why I think his career is overrated. But I think that's where the difficulty is, how do you detract the career from the artist.
