US soccer needs to step her game up.
Rivalry between entire countries is so much more fun than rivalry between cities. At least when it comes to sport. Everybody's going nuts when the national team wins, its like a big fucking party everywhere in the country. Right now you could probably be driving drunk as fuck honking the whole time and the cops wouldnt give a shit, downtown is hella crowded and its a weekday, bitches in Black Red Gold everyhwere

you guys are gettin this twisted I'm not saying to WATCH AND SUPPORT THE MLS(even tho it is getting better) IM talking about the U.S. Men's National team and the Olympic qualifying team... I'm talking about supporting the USA national team... and I find it funny that some people on here born and live in the US, just bandwagon onto another country cause thats the popular thing to do
The US team hasn't won shit, neither did anyone you just listed, even though they all might be talented. The US focus is on Football, Basketball and Baseball. Thats where the money is. Talented athletes rather become Football stars, because they will probably make 5 time as much as if they would play for LA Galaxy. As long as soccer is only No. 4 in the US, and your National league doesn't improve quality wise, your team wont be among the best in the world for a long ass time, even though your country definitely has the sports talent.
fuck USA soccer. I havent seen a game when USA dominated a game or beaten a well known team. USA got way out played when they played England and England wasnt even in the EURO Cup. I'll cheer for USA when they get to the World cup but lets face it they suck. They only futbol USA should be playing is FOOTBALL, the NFL.

Most of the US players have been playing for European, mostly English clubs, if im not mistaken, but your National Team is still far away from the top.
You do need a strong national league in order to produce well educated young US players, who can develop their game play on an internationally competitive level.

but Soccer is still less popular than other sports in the US. A large amount of talented people who could become great at soccer don't even consider trying it in the first place, because other sports are more attractive.

Soccer is like Religion in Brazil. And all you need is a ball to play it, so even the poorest kids can enjoy it. Its everywhere in the streets and beaches, cant say that about the US. Plus, the Brasilien league is FULL of talented young players, but the money is in Europe, so most of the talent goes there after some time, but their soccer education takes place in Brazil, for the most part.
