Strictly lyrically (metaphors, rhyme patterns, multi-syllables, etc) , I would have to say Relapse was his best.

Lyrically, nothing on Recovery is fucking with these verses.
wow, really???

IMO Relapse was his second worst album, lyrically

SSLP, MMLP, Eminem Show, and Recovery are all better than that album from a lyrical stand point

^^I would agree, but the delivery was on point......

@meta, seduction is definitely about hip hop.....check the last verse its pretty clear, he is talking about seducing the game with his lyrics.....and the other dude he speaks about would be the hottest rapper at any point in time, and Em comin around and stealin hip hop back......

This album is crazy.....talking to myself, goin thru changes, seduction, no love, 25 to life....damn...

I love this album for the simple fact that em gets into his personal shit more than ever......hes shittin on the game with this...

this his best album imo its sounds the most complete all his other shit sounded like it was missing something. also the beats grew on me they sound just right and fits him perfect bc he is a crossover artist so he wouldnt sound right rapping over some gutter beats.. em one them rappers that draws you into his lyrical content instead the beats.

imma be buying this for a fact.

i hated encore but when i listen to it now, theres only a few unlistenable songs, he spit some hard ass shit on there. relapse wasnt that special lyrically. i grew out of horrorcore so i wasnt extremely impressed with the subject matter of a lot of it, but the flow and accent didnt bother me as much as everyone else. it was a solid album, i gave it a 6.5 at the time it dropped and ill still give it a 5.5 or 6, just for the good songs that were great on there, like de ja vu, beautiful, underground, and my mom which were all top notch.

this recovery cd is somethin else though. the production is different than i thought some of it would sound like but none the less it still bangs. just a matter of opinion. you have to remember this dude is 37 years old, and the sound reflects that, the maturity in attitude and skill is great. if you dont think this dude is spittin you are NOT a fan of hip hop and never have been. go shoot yourself in the face for being too stupid to recognize genius when its right in your face. this album is an instant classic.

I like 6 tracks, the production doesnt do him justice enough. Hes spitting hard on this album but there are to many pop songs. My whole issue with Relapse is Em wasnt spitting that well, on here i think he listened to the critics cuz his flow is way better
I already said this, I guess I will say maybe its time to be more selective on production cuz noones questioning the guys talent

agreed and thats why i think he shits on relpase with this album, yeah his metaphors and his rhyme scheme is dope on relpase but what eminem cd doesnt have that? what it lacked was depth in the songs, he was just rapping about some murder shit and thats cool but it was waaaay too much, he did have some good deep songs on relapse but not nearly enough. i mean he didnt even have a tribute to proof on that shit, it's like he was rushing it out or something but whoknows. this shit is fucking crazy, if it aint a deep personal song then he's just slaying the mic like he never did before. the more i listen to the more the older albums are moving out the way for this one. i cant even hum the type of beats he's using cause when the songs over all i listened to was the lyrics cause of how crazy they were so maybe thats why i'm not tripping over the"pop" sound.

he fucking murdered the track. i loved the story, the depiction of his rise to flame, the emotions after losing that battle in the rap olympics to doing battles day after day til he dropped and got back up the next day, occasionally writing verses on napkins--anything to win--to his ep capturing the attention of the mighty dre to getting in dre's studio cupping his balls all day long and turning into a mic beast. AND he did lyrically far beyond what he'd ever done lyrically. the beat was an ambitious one.. it switched up, it rifted, and it hit hard and on the points it hit hard he spit harder. that shit was more flawless than renegade. i'll have to give it time to marinate, of course, but i think his best spits to date are on recovery. fuckin phe-nom.
