yeah... the one song with rihanna defines the album, huh?

you mean to tell me that Cold Win Blows, On Fire, Seduction, Cinderella Man, So Bad, Almost Famous etc... are pop songs???

they don't even sound like pop songs at all

and I think he only has like 2 songs where he's talking about love, Seduction and So Bad he's talking about fuckin bitches, but not those aren't soft ass love songs

and don't imply you know what I listen to... I listen to gay shit all the time???

you have no fucking idea what I listen to... so miss me with that bullshit
soft? he spits harder than any rapper out there easy. who is YOUR favorite artist? lol
i gave this album the benefit of the doubt. i saw that rhianna & pink were on it but i didnt judge it too quickly cause eminem can create some pretty good songs with the weirdest features however this time he didn't deliver (imo). and yes, all those songs you mentioned suck. its funny because eminem is one of my favorite artists too. i liked MMLP & Relapse the best of out his whole catalog. When relapse came out people criticized the shit out of em for the accent or what not but it was him just being raw. He said he did what proof wanted him to do on relapse and that was lose his fucking mind, so to me it felt like he was just being himself. this album sounds like the critics forced him into a new style that appeals to the pop culture. hes talks about feeling sorry about dissing people and what not and its like wtf? but whatever im not trying to change nobodies opinion just pointing out this album is straight soft.

all good man, I can respect that as your opinion

I'm just saying don't come in here saying we all like the album because we're used to listening to gay pop music... you don't really know what I listen to... so don't assume that shit

the majority of the people on here say the album is dope... and I'm guessing that the majority of the people on here don't listen to "gay pop music"

lol... I hear ya. The part that really threw me off was: "I almost made a song dissin Lil Wayne...Almost went at Kanye too...Thank god that I didn't do it, I would of had my ass handed to me." Lol...are you serious, Em? Get your ass handed to you by Lil Wayne and Kanye?

Oh and this line I thought was hilarious, too: "Are you stupid? You gon' start dissin people for no reason? Especially when you can't even write a decent punchline even."

Umm, haven't you BEEN dissing people for no reason your entire career??? Vanilla Ice, Brittney Spears, Mariah Carrey, Nick Cannon, Christopher Reed, Backstreet Boys, NSync, etc., etc. He built his career on dissing people for no reason, lol.

I know what he meant, Mak. I just think it's funny. Lil Wayne in his prime couldn't see Em on his worst day.

After soaking this whole album up in cd quality imma say lyrically this his best album. he killed this shit and he sounds focused on here more then any of his other albums,
end thread.....

Marshall Mathers LP was cool and all, an undisputed classic, but it was one of those things where u had to be there.....with the exception of the Eminem Show, Em's material hasnt aged well. I don't think I've listenined to the MMLP once in the last 5 years...where as if you were to take Ready To Die, its easily BIG's best material, same with Jay-z; Reasonable Doubt and Blueprint and I listen to each of those albums at least once a month.....this could end up being Em's best work in his catalogue.....

he wasnt talking bout getting lyrically murdered by them he was talking bout catching hell from the critics and they fan. use you head and dont assume stuff.
Ah, but you, sir, are also assuming. Unless Eminem himself states that he was, in fact, referring to getting his ass handed to him by fans and critics, then my *assumption* is no worse than yours.

As I've mentioned, Eminem made a career out of dissing people "for no reason," and catching hell from critics.

you know i feel the same exact way. i cant explain it but on this album he just sounds pure and natural. seems like on his other albums he used a formula he wasnt really sure about. he needs to rap off outside production from now on bc it brings out the best in him.

After soaking this whole album up in cd quality imma say lyrically this his best album.
Strictly lyrically (metaphors, rhyme patterns, multi-syllables, etc) , I would have to say Relapse was his best.

...All he wants is to kill you in front of an audience
While everybody
Is watchin in the party applauding it
Here I sit while I'm caught up in deep thought again
Contemplating my next plot again
Swallowin the Klonopin
While I'm noddin
In and out on the autumn and
If the ramada inn
Holdin onto the pill bottle then
Lick my finger and swirl it round the bottom
And make sure I got all of it
Wake up naked at McDonald's
With
Blood all over me
Dead bodies
Behind the counter
SHIT
Guess I must of just blacked out again
NOT AGAIN...

...I'm just a hooligan
Who's used to usin hallicinogens
Causin illusions again
Brain contusions again
Cutting and bruising the skin
Raise the scissors and pins
Jesus when does it end
Phases that I go through
Dazed and I'm so confused
Days that I don't know who
Gave these molecules too
Me
What am I gone do
Had the prodical son
The diabolical one
Very methodical
When I slaughtered them
So dark and so cold my friends dont know this otha side of me
Theres a monster inside of me
its quite ugly and it fright-uns me
But they cant see what i can see theres a vacancy in my tummy
Its makin me play hide n seek like jason im so hungry
Shes naked see no privacy but i can see she wants me
So patient, see, i try to be but gee, why does she taunt me
Close the drapes and she goes rite to sleep
And I creep rite through the front seat
So blatantly but silently cuz i kno that shes sound asleep
"Whos wakin me so violently and why is he on top of me
He's raping me"
She trys to scream, "Somebody please get him off me
Hes tapin me hes bitin me hes laughin likes its funny"
Shes scrapin me shes fightin me shes scratching like some dumb freak
Escaping me, no die, you see i might just be Ted Bundy
Or satin gee what a site to see im dancin in my red panties
Im crazy but its alight with me nd life can be so empty
Stay away from cuz im dancin to quite a different drum beat
Lyrically, nothing on Recovery is fucking with these verses.

I still listen to his older albums all the time, especially MMLP. I was just bumpin The Way I Am, Stan & Marshall Mathers a couple days ago.
Got all his albums on my iphone and still bump slim shady lp & ep along with MMLP quite a bit. They will never get old in my book. Good music that has actually made a dent in my life will always be in my playlist, no matter who thinks its wack. Music is my life so it may be different for other people but music actually has meaning to me. And this album has so much emotion and replay value its rediculous. Can't comment on if its a classic or not yet but, I am lovin it so far.
