Now I know this is a west coast website and I work closely with many people on here. However, I'm EAST COAST and I know there's a few other folks from the east on here.

Who doesn't love the east coast music. I mean when you hear a Pete Rock Track or a Premo cut (true he's from Texas but he may be the best at capturing the essence) how can you not feel it. I mean the heavy snare and kick drum, the grimy atmosphere the music gives you. Old Wu Tang, Early BIG, early DMX, some Edo G. Damn I Love the East.
If you love that style of music give it up in here!!!!

PS
I love the west, 99% of my network is over in Cali. But I gotta give it up for the home side.

I kinda hate when people start with the whole, "we started hip hop" shit as well. Regardless of where it started it has gone much further. Plus we've been in a slump for a while. But we got newer cats like Joell and Skyzoo and the vets like Beanie and Ghostface are steady droppin heat. Not to mention Boston, shameless plug, is becoming a huge hot spot.

I alway's had/have respect for the Mecca of rap, but when people gotta shove it in ur face that they the shit cuz they from NY....Shit makes me hate certain aspects from there! But all in all i still love listening to East Coast music even to this day (i.e. Saigon, Joell Ortiz, Pharoah Monch, Talib Kweli) I can go on but it goes beyond my point.

Kind of like how a lot of Bay people shove it in ur face cuz there from the Bay or LA niggaz shove it in ur face just cuz there from LA. LA, Bay & NY share the same arrogance.

I've never been to NY but I've met plenty of people from there & most of them were assholes. They'd be in Cali & all I would hear from them is how much better NY is better, blah blah blah. Kind of like how I hear Bay nigga s hollering that shit that live in the Valley now. If its so great then GO BACK!!

I remember last year I was fuckin thi bitch that was from Brooklyn. She was always saying some funny style shit about Cali & how NY was better etc.

So I got @ her & said "well, u talk about how slow Cali is & NY is so far ahead but I don't see anything so advanced about the way u hustle, dress & carry yourself".

She says "I got a good job, a car & a house so I'm doing real cool."

I told'er "Bitch, that aint shit! The same shit u got every bitch I fucks with got so u aint pushing the line no harder then th females here in Sac or all over Cali."

She also asked if we could go out but when I told that bitch she gotta pay cuz she asked me, she said she don't pay to take guys out so I just siad "that's fine with me cuz I aint taking u nowhere. We can keep this situation strictly in the bedroom". I guess she was use 2 be in NY & having them BK niggaz saving her ass but I aint the one. I eventually told that bitch to kick rocks.

That was just one situation I've had wit a East Coast person. There's been more. Them people kill me.

I don't care if they say otherwise I wholeheartedly believe that to this day that most west coast folks that don't like or listen to east coast music is still because of the whole Pac/Biggie thing. Vice versa too.

They will come up with other excuses why and for a few those other reasons are true, but for most that's the reason why. I'm from NYC but grew up in the north west and have a lot of friends that moved up from Cali. I'd be listening to some east coast rapper they never heard about and they would be feeling it, second I said they were from NYC they would be like "turn that crap off." That shit used to crack me up.

Personally I like music from anywhere if it's good. I don't give a fuck if you are from Delaware, if it sounds good I'll listen to it.

That sums it up

But is is also true that the east fell of the hardest of all regions, you don't hear much good music coming from there, especially from the better known artists
