my point is that he shouldn't feel obligated but if he really had love for cali and the west coast he would WANT to work with bay artists and LA artists for that matter and make them successful. But he doesn't, so fuck him, ill be downloading Detox.

check your facts homie....1. nwa was out IN STORES way befor too short or hammer was, that nation had no idea who was up hear (FACT). Hammer blew up AFTER nwa and so did too short

2. The game and bishop are from L.A. so dre is "helping" L.A.

3. a dre beat isent going to help 40 or the west for that matter,

we are BAY ( a whole different world) compeared to L.A.

the point is DRE CAN GIVE BEATS OUT TO ALL WEST COAST ARTIST, BUT IT WILL NOT BRING THE WEST BACK "BECUASE majority of THE BAY dose not go out side of hear...... a radio is not going to play your song cause its a dre beat (YOU STILL HAVE TO PAY FOR AIR TIME) = majority of the bay IS BROKE and have a fucked up work ETHIC.

simple solution----------- GO FUCKING GET IT!

It what 40 did and how he became succesful, learn from it.
You not getting me. I ain't said shit about Dre bringing the WestCoast back. Not one word. I said if I was Dre, I would have put more of an effort into helping out where I come from. Don't claim WestCoast, then sit back and do nothing when it's struggling.

Game and Bishop are two out of hundreds of rappers in LA that Dre knows. He don't even fuck with Game anymore, and the only reason why he gives Bishop beats is because Bishop ghostwrites for the nigga. Dre has turned his back on LA. Period.

I don't think 40 and Dre would be that great together either, that's not what my point is. Dre should be helping to keep the coast that has turned him into the giant that he is afloat. Just like J.Prince is trying to do with Houston.

The west coast did not turn him into a giant, he turned this coast into one by pioneering a sound that blew up...you think only the west coast bought his and NWA's albums?

To everyone saying he turned his back on LA, the west coast blah blah....dude is like 40, has kids, and his own life to worry about, why should he worry about a whole region and if its on the radio or not?? No one is forcing anyone to be rappers, if they suffering, go find a new fuckin occupation. He aint everyone on the west coast's daddy. What is he, fuckin Superman or Batman that has this big responsibility for saving lives or something??

I know for damn sure if I blew up, I would look out for myself, and my friends....Rep where I'm from and thats the way to put it on the map....then if other artists can piggyback off that success, so be it. and if my memory serves me correct, Dre is always shouting out Compton in songs.

cause you dont need connections and help in the rap game right?
you don't need connections or help from dre if you a hot artist...him making you a beat don't guarantee that yo shit go sell...all the big artists you see in the rap game now (50, luda, jeezy, weezy, t.i.) had albums out before they had they big break

That aint really accurate bruh. You know how many dope rappers are in the world that can't get on for whatever reason. The rap game is tough to break into inless u have a gimick or some shit. All the artists u named caught a break from somebody at the top. 50 got put on by Jam Master J..Jeezy knew people in BMF that were working in the business. Luda was a radio DJ in ATL so he had connections...Baby and Mannie Fresh put Wayne on...Everybody had a break from somebody.

Here's what some of you fans/consumers don't understand about the business:

Mufuckas is recording ALL THE TIME all over the place. Aint no tellin WHO Dre is recording with. At the end of the day, shit won't come out to the public unless Dre says so if he's producing it. So you have no proof that he hasn't given a beat to or produced anyone from the bay, LA, Mars, etc...

Shit, if he's looking to keep the West afloat (which shouldn't matter), he probably figures one of the most anticipated albums of all time (DETOX) is going to be the thing to do it. Not some random collaboration with fellow West Coasters.

Again, just because he is THE dude out here on the West, that don't mean he owes the west anything. Mufuckas in New York buy music too, lol

Mufuckas always lookin for a handout

wasn't none of them as big as dre is now...shieeeeeet...some of em wasn't as big as they is now...my point is that you have to prove yoself by puttin somethin out...labels is not pickin up artists because they can spit some hot verses over a instrumental or can make a hot mixtape...they wanna know if they put yo shit in the store will it sell...so if you ain't gettin radio spins or sellin a respectful amount of units on ya own they ain't fuckin wit chu

^E-40 has done alllllll that and more. Listen, Dre doesn't have to do anything, but it would be good for the state of california if he backed up all that west coast shit he has claimed over the years. If he doesnt wanna be a part of cali artists being successful, fine, cool, but stop saying west coast and stop frontin like your actually doing sometime for us. He is all west coast when its time for us to shed out another $15.99 for his cd. Fuck all that.

Best post in this thread thus far, and I've been saying this shit for a year or so now.....

Yall DONT need Dre for the west to be stable, yall need to get the fuck up and make moves and stop waiting on Dre to hold your favorite rappers hands....J.R. Rotem is from the west coast, but I dont see no one complaining when he makes beats for south and east artists outside of doing production for west coast ones.....
jr. rotem did 40's new song with game and snoop dogg pain no more

It doesn't matter how big those other cats are compared to Dre. The fact of the matter is, somebody had to put Wayne and Jeezy and Luda on. It's IMPOSSIBLE for a rapper nowadays to do it compleley by yourslef, inless u have a gimick backing you (Like Soulja Boy). You keep talking about spins on the radio, well don't you think it would be a whole lot eaiser for a Westcoast nigga to get play if they had Dre's backing? I'm not saying that Dre has to back anybody...Dre a grown ass man and gon whatever he want, I'm just saying that if I was in Dre's position, I wouldn't turn my back on where I'm from, then expect the people where I'm from to buy my shit.
