DVI --> HDMI question

what exactly are you connecting to your hdmi. i connected my computer to my tv through hdmi but there was no sound. i bought a sound card and some $10.00 cables at best buy and connected them to a sorround sound system. i dont know if that helps

This is the setup i have in my living room, but this is for my bedroom where i do not have an A/V reciever and dont plan on getting one.

maybe you should buy a y cable. One side is a male plug and the otherside has 2 plugs that look like RCAs. Plug the single side into your laptop earphone input and the other into the TV's audio or receivers audio in.

If that doesnt work your laptop sucks.

That should work no problem just put it on the audio plugs that the DVI input goes to.
