i feel artists that exploit artists deaths for personal gain is an integrity issue. biggie and pac are just a couple of examples. if people want to pay their respect they can do it in private. the funny thing is this video came out as somebody else who has nothing to do with mac dre or the bay is making a tribute video/song to mac dre and acting like hes from the bay. both of them on some fake ass bullshit. i dont make my opinion based on peoples success or lack of.

U r focusing too much on the negative. Did u ever think that drake doing this would benefit mac dre's music catalog? All his fans are gonna wanna know who md is. And drake ain't benefitting from that at all. In order to exploit someone in my opinion u must have something to gain based on what you are talking about.

Rap is a culture and apart of a culture...You can't downplay culture people get shot and killed beat everyday for downplaying or shitting on others culture beliefs (I.E. In this instance for a Rap purist, Hip Hop). Rap is also now a business, Some can successfully bridge the two, most can't find out where your strong suits are and be able to deal with the out come.

i know we were talking about artistic integrity earlier, and i mentioned how i think integrity isn't something that is often either defined or diminished in a big way by an artists output, at least in the sphere of rap music. there's one artist that i can think of that exemplifies artistic integrity and taking a stand for what you believe in, in a real way. and it's vital from the crest.

he went from making some really good rap shit like "they gon hate me" and he did some stuff w/mac dre, like, funny enough he did the romped out norteno remix. haha, but he always gassed shit. anyways, he gradually stepped away from stuff like that to now make shit like this and i think it is a perfect example of true artistic integrity, and funny enough it led to him not even rapping at all.





imho it took courage to choose to pursue this path.
