Only the first three picks are picked from ping pong balls.
They are numbered 1-14.
Each team has a number of different combinations to get picks...
The percent chance that each team has is from the number of different combinations they have on the board. The celtics with a 25% chance, had 250 combinations. The clippers with a .5% chance had five combinations. There's a total of 1001 combinations, one combination is assigned to nobody.
Each combination has four numbers in it..
Let's say the combination 14-3-7-2 was drawn in this years lottery.
They take the numbers, and they look at this big matrix that's on the wall. They see what team has the combination of 14-3-7-2, and they assign them there pick. Let's say that 14-3-7-2 belongs to the Blazers.. They see this, and the Blazers get the number one pick..
Next number: 11-7-1-9..
Lets say they check out the chart and see that this number belongs to the Blazers. This means that they redraw... They put the balls back in the machine, and draw some more numbers.
Next numbers....
10-7-3-9.
Belongs to the Sonics. Sonics get the number two pick.
Next numbers....
2-3-8-1...
The Hawks own this number, and that's it for the lottery.
Picks then go to:
1) Blazers
2) Sonics
3) Hawks
Now, they decide picks 4-14 by putting them teams with the worst record in the next spots.. So..
4) Grizzlies
5) Celtics
...
14) Clippers
im so fucking happy right now. God the Sonics needed this, I just hope they can get arena built. I wish they got the first pick so they could draft Oden but im more then happy to see Durant play in a Sonic uniform.

The difference is.. Most of the busts recently, never proved themselves at the college level.. Oden proved that he has what it takes when he took Ohio State to the National Championship game his freshman year..
However, I don't think that's a championship caliber squad.
If they had Chris Paul, like they should've drafted a few years back, they'd definitely be a championship caliber squad.. But Jarrett Jack isn't going to cut it.. Plus they still need a SF.
