my grandma makes a shit load of tamales on christmas time, more than we would eat in a lifetime, but to her its her gift to us since we have to unwrap them.
lol holy shit...sounds just like the holidays we used to have when my grandparents were still alive.
Nothin beats grandmas tamales. Shed have a note with every one of her kids' names on em inside an envelope "good for 1 dozen tamales". lol. She was the shit. On xmas my grandfather cooked a killer fucking breakfast..hed be up at 6am preparing that shit for the 20 of us. Wed eat around 9. Have our annual family football game.
My holidays have been quiet the last few years since they died. Our family kinda fucked up and dont get along anymore. My grandparents were the glue that kept us all together during holidays, and we all found a way to make each other laugh back then. Lots of wine and liquor, food, sports games on the tv, lotta noise, great conversations.. LOL were a loud crowd. Times have changed since then.
I spend turkey day and xmas with my old man now. We drink, watch a game, maybe a good movie if theres one hes interested in, ill download it and bring it by to his place.
That pretty much sums up the new tradition now.
Those of you with large gatherings and good times this time of year- appreciate that shit. I envy you all.
