Indeed... I do enjoy the holiday season :)

The time to obtain a tree is very close... anyone still get a real xmas tree... they are kinda messy and a hassle but I always like the smell. Plus they burn hella quick to start the bonfire on new years eve :)

I like the holiday season just for the simple fact that I love winter weather. I also enjoy having the whole family come together, get fucked up, watch football and gamble. As for buying gifts, Im known as the cheap one but like you said, we in a recession. Time to go to old navy and buy everyone a cheap ass shirt.

I only go all out with gifts if its for my parents, brothers and sisters. Its also and extra payday for me. I love going to my cousins house when we celebrate christmas and see a stack of money filled envelopes for all the older folks. I always rack up about $500 in cash and gift cards every year.

I like the winter season, I like snowboarding and doin shit in the snow...I like the food on thanksgiving, and at christmas time I really like being able to get gifts for everyone else...If youve never had the oppurtunity to give a gift to a kid, relative, child/stepchild, and see them open it youre missing out. But with anything else theres the downside, its fuckin cold, christmas is completely comercialized, and I hate recieving gifts actually...

I use to always get a "real tree" ... now its all about the fake tree - less mess, and then throw it in a box for next year haha

I do like lighting up my fire-place during winter weather... just chillen watching a movie with a drink in the hand

normally I use xmas as an excuse to by myself some studio equipment

lol holy shit...sounds just like the holidays we used to have when my grandparents were still alive.

Nothin beats grandmas tamales. Shed have a note with every one of her kids' names on em inside an envelope "good for 1 dozen tamales". lol. She was the shit. On xmas my grandfather cooked a killer fucking breakfast..hed be up at 6am preparing that shit for the 20 of us. Wed eat around 9. Have our annual family football game.

My holidays have been quiet the last few years since they died. Our family kinda fucked up and dont get along anymore. My grandparents were the glue that kept us all together during holidays, and we all found a way to make each other laugh back then. Lots of wine and liquor, food, sports games on the tv, lotta noise, great conversations.. LOL were a loud crowd. Times have changed since then.

I spend turkey day and xmas with my old man now. We drink, watch a game, maybe a good movie if theres one hes interested in, ill download it and bring it by to his place.

That pretty much sums up the new tradition now.

Those of you with large gatherings and good times this time of year- appreciate that shit. I envy you all.

i feel you, ever since my auntie (the mother of my dad's cousins) passed away a couple of years ago, no one ever gets along with anyone anymore, when she was around we all used to meet up at one house and it would be like 40 of us all up in there just kicking it and have a good ass time, but now shit it ain't what it used to be, everybody is doing their own thing.

I love the atmosphere around the holidays, and nothing beats smoking some fire ass weed thanksgiving morning while watching football and then smashin down a few plates of home cooked food with the fam. xmas is a lot better when you can buy something for the people that matter I don't really care if I receive anything.

^^^I have a homie that is in the exact situation. Grand parents kept the family together. They passed on and they left a large sum of money to his dad because he was the only one in the family that had his head on straight. Now they all hated on his dad and everything was all drama from there. Only spends the holidays with his parents and 2 sisters. He told me its not the same but hey, money can change everything and having your family turn on you over that is just some shady shit.

Holidays are cool for the atmosphere and food. Turducken is the shit. We had that a few times. Shit feeds like 20 heads. And of course the drinks. Plenty of drinks when the fam gets together. It's a cool time of the year, and is capped by New Years....
