I understand that, I'm just tryna figure out why so many so called "fans" of Bay Area rap keep bouncing back n forth on what they want from who they're listening to. One minute it's "*insert bay rapper* isn't doing enough to make it big" the next minute it's "*insert bay rapper* is selling out just to make it big."
.
Well for me I have been a bay area rap fan. I will always support Hiero, Zion I, Locksmith, Blackalicious, too short. In all honesty the reason why I am on the siccness so I can hear who yall listen to in the bay. For example, I was at a show last night my DJ was booked for, some guys from a camp called livewire was there ( i think his name starts with shady or something like that, i dunno he was at the door trying to get in, then i believe he got in along with the bayliens? ). Personally with me I have never heard of them or what they about or where there from, but lucky enough i was there to get a chance to hear them. I think the bay need to reach more outlets. If it is mob music, don't just stick to mob music outlets. Last nights show, the main emcee was Tash from the Alcolholiks so the scene wasn't too familiar with the new bay mob music(livewire). I think a lot of these artist need to use all outlets including ones out of there norm so they can build that universal appeal.
LOL that statement makes me laugh. Bay Area rappers get criticized when they try and branch out from the Bay and make different types of music that appeals to a wider audience....then they get criticized by the same ppl for being content with staying in the Bay. Shit I guess rappers in the bay can't do anything right.
Also everyone criticizes everyone that is just music in general. Live with it and do you
