I've just been offered a distribution deal with RND Distribution and was wondering if anyone else has gone through them. They seem to be promising and work with artists like Redman, Lil Troy, & Juvinile, but I haven't heard much about what kind of sales they produce... If anyone has any experience dealing with them I'd appreciate any feedback... I'm holding the contract in my hand and everything seems legit, I just wonder if it's worth signing and sending them out a few hundred albums or not... Any experiences any of you have had with them would be appreciated... And just for your info, they're interested in distributing my Raw Talent Mixtape, which can be bought at www.ogdogg.com just in case any of you want to cop a dope ass album with some local names on it... Thanks.

The sales in the independent game really depend on the promotion the label does, not the distributor, cause I doubt RND is going to distribute and promote the fuck out of the project. If you wanna sign the contract, sign the contract...but the sales they produce depends on your labels promotional budget!!

I was hoping somebody would have some experience dealing with them and could let me know if they're a good company or not... I'll probably end up going through with it and hoping for the best... Hopefully I'll get some support from the bay and folks will cop one...

Lets stay on topic... But ya, that song was off V-Boy's album. If these trees could talk. You should grab it if you haven't yet. My album isn't just a compilation though, it's mixed by a DJ so that it's constant music like a club mix only with dope hip-hop songs... It's nice to listen too, all the way through...

^^^ LOL

but yeahman, in this new age rap shit man honestly i think you'd be better wit out them. since u got a few names on your album you should be able to push it yourself. whats the point of breakin break wit them when youdo all the w ork. you probably wont get too many more sales than wha you would if you was sellin ityourself. only reason i see that distribution being beneficial is if somebody specificly wants your cd and they can go to the store directly to get it. other than that, business wise you go take a loss cause thats just another hand in your pocket

^ I feel that, but it's isn't an exclusive deal. I'm still going to sell them myself. I'm still selling them off my website and the other artists on the mixtape also have copies to sell. I'm definately going to have it distributed cuz that's how you get known and build up soundscans. I'm also sending out copies to radio stations and handing out free pressed cd's of the album (without cases) in clubs. It isn't all about the money, I'm mostly looking to get promotion with this release. I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with RND Distribution...

if you understand all that these cats are trying to tell you, then why you on the web asking questions about your personal business? Just wonderin. You don't need nobody on here to answer your question about whether you in for a good or bad situation. SHit just cause somebody had a goood experience don't mean you will, and vice versa... You think you gone feel anymore comfortable from what a cat tell you on a web site. You need to be gettin advice from a lawyer homie. You obviously don't have your shit together or you wouldn't be on here askin questions. I hope that helps...

Oh and Holla at Suave, cause he gone keep it as real as it gets about what they can do for you, which is absolutely nothing if the album has no demand... Just like OG MS said. Either your garage or their warehouse will be sitting on your cd's, you choose...

You dead wrong, lawyers know exactly what company's are reputable, shit they the one filing the CHapter 11 papers for the ones that are going out of biz. If you really want to know who is reputable, go to the chain stores and the mom and pops, and ask the buyers who they feel are the most relaible distributors as far as delivering cd's on time once they are ordered, and ask them who they feel pick up there money on time, and who pick up the cd's that don't sell. That's where you need to ask the questions. Everybody on here tryna get you to understand that what you doin doesn't make any sense unless you already an established label who already has a track record of selling cd's. They bein nice to you and don't want to make you upset by telling you you better off without a disty deal until you prove to yourself you can make it happen for your self... Good luck homie...

Oh and if you sold that many units, why you finna turn ya cds over to a distributor and wait 60 to 90 to get paid, whan if you sold that many cd's you makin all the money up front. It don't make sense homie. Haven't you been payin attention to what's been goin on in the By the past couple of years... No hate, but you need to study the game if you gone make plays...

Thanks for your opinion. I guess you were right, this isn't the place to discuss serious business issues... I also don't think RND Distribution is "being nice" cuz they don't want to upset me... But again, thanks for your opinon...

Don't get it twisted man, people on here know the business, but this isn't the place to put your business, feel me? I have no problems answering questions like this...but some people don't like to help others and that's why we all try to keep our business to ourselves...cause it would be pointless to look for help in a place where 90% of the people don't want to see any new cats bubble!!

If you ever have questions pimp, feel free to e-mail me or PM me on here, I'm always down to help somebody out.

Good luck to you man, I hope you get your bubble on!!

O.G. DOGG - You speakin to a VETERAN like he some punk tellin you off....he bein truthfull homie. Never put yo Distro Business or Contractual Legal shit on here unless you want every idiot and they momma knowin ya business and further more make you look like some rookie who just got a jar of cookies offered to him and is not sure if he should just dig in.

RND post's here and I am sure they propbably don't appreciate you posting a question like this & might ultimately look at you in a different light...that light being "not a real business man" light in which you get offered something by them and you have to go on the internet and post it up and have a bunch of people you never met give you feedback. Just food for thought brotha....NO DISS here, something you should just keep in mind.

This place is good not GREAT, but good for alot of things but don't base ya career choices on the folks here.

I was just looking for some feedback on their company. I don't see why it'd bother them. I do think it's funny the amount of bickering that was brought into this thread though... And still no feedback about RND like I asked... Guess I'll just drop it...
