Ya, but isn't that like the closet racist who always says, "ya, well i have black friends, or my best friend is black", and then, with their actions, shows that they are truly racist.
Yes, it is great that Condi is in a very high position of power, just like Colin Powell. But. let's not kid ourselves into thinking that her position of power is helping the average black man or woman. In fact, when i have brought her up as a good role model for blacks, my in-laws just remark that she is an uncle tom! Which is definately short sided and ignorant from my in-laws part, but it is how they, and possibly many black's, interpret Condi's rise to power.
The Racist to be most afraid of, is the White man who has been raised within a Minority culture (Black, Latino, etc.) and is considered "down", and that proceeds to go around labeling other Black/Mexican/Japenese people as "not ___", because they do not conform to that White Man's newly-found, racist definitions: the Black that speaks slang and doesn't "snitch", the Mexican that is required to speak Spanish, and so on. -- These are the most dangerous out of any Racists you will ever find.
Condi is a different breed of Racist, if you INSIST on using such a word. She IGNORES race which, last I checked, was THE WHOLE POINT.....but in today's age, where up is down and west is east, its now "racist" to not pander to your own individual race, to not insist upon acting like your designated stereotype, and so on. It is despicable the way some people think, but this...verily...is it. This is how the thinking goes.
If Condi runs for President, and we don't see her in Barbershops, getting her hair did, wearing gaudy jewelry, speaking with a Black People Accent, and so on, expect her to be ostracized, labeled "Uncle Tom" and everything else.
With that having been explained, what I am telling you is that this Presidential position transcends all others. Bar none. There is not a single position in the world that even REMOTELY COMPARES to President of the United States of America.
And for this woman to be, not only the first Female President, but the First Black President, would send all the messages we've been trying to send since [Black voyagers first discovered this continent long before] the Pilgrims first arrived here on the Mayflower.
Black people would IMMEDIATELY snap out of this complex and wack condition that they have been living in, voting 90%+ Liberal/Democrat, which does NOTIHNG but virtually GUARANTEE marginalization.
This isn't about ____ person, being of ___ race, and doing things for ____ race. This is about one person, who happens to be a Female and Black, representing the absolute pinnacle of achievement. It would transform this nation, it would be that big.
