You are NOT going to convince me that race is real. EVER. You should honestly look into this because from where you stand, the race argument is only going to hinder you. Race is made up in our society so that people (whites if you want to call us that) can feel better about themselves by degrading someone else. There is NO GENETIC evidence of RACE. LOOK IT UP. Or I'll hit up one of my sociology profs and get some good information from him. Oh, and I believe 2-0-Sixx posted a map of the world awhile back with environments and the way people evolved or somethin...I dont' remember what thread it was in though.

Keep in mind, you believe in race, but you hate racism. If people didn't fall for the idea of race, racism would not exist.

Sixxness- You can ignore the idea of race, but you can't ignore the differences in culture, morals, beliefs, etc., between people. I see what you're saying and if everyone saw things that way, things would be a lot different. But as long as things continue the way they are, race is very real as is racism.

It's real to those that believe in it. Just cause everyone think it's there and acts like it is, doesn't mean that it's there at the core. People are just ignorant and can't get over it because it's now engrained in our heads that it's real. I don't ignore the fact that there are different cultures. I know that, I admit that. But that doesn't mean they are genetically different, just different in the way they live and do things.

I'm not trying to say that people aren't racist. What I'm is that the more people that realize race is a social construct made up to divide people then maybe some people would actually not be so fuckin ignorant (not calling anyone specifically ignorant, just sayin).

Certain people bring up the fact that race stigmatizes people...So then why the fuck fall into the trap and do it to yourself? I mean come on, that's ridiculous. If you identify with a 'race', it's so you have somewhere you fit in. Regardless of the little reasons, that's pretty much what it is. You have somethin to identify with. The thing is, we are all HUMANS. So I identify with people on that level. I treat people equally regardless of that shit, just cause other people can't do the same doesn't mean I'm wrong.

I see what you're saying and you are right; the only way to get rid of racism is to get rid of the idea of race. But there are things in the past that cannot be taken back. example: white man's burden and all the shit they pulled for that. I mean, I normally don't like to put the blame on anybody, but it was the white folks who brought africans over here and enslaved them, who killed the natives of this land, who hung blacks and browns alike. And now, everyone wants everything to be nice and peachy like nothing ever happened. The history and the actions of everyones' ancestors led to this. All this shit that I hear about people (especially whites) wanting to get rid of race and that it doesnt exist, all while cops are racially profiling blacks and browns every fuckin day, all while the prisons in this country are being filled up with blacks and browns, and all while people from the middle east are portrayed in the media as all being terrorist/ Islamic extremists. So much other shit too. The system needs to change first and foremost my friend. If the system doesn't change, don't expect people to.

PS. I'm not saying I agree or disagree with this type of mentality, but im just trying to explain how things are and why.
