I was convicted of a felony for sellin dank in 99, 4 years later I petitioned the court and had the felony reduced to a misdemeanor and the misdemeanor was immediately dismissed. Nothing shows on my record when I apply for jobs.
I go to the range fequently and shoot rented guns, havent tried purchasing a new gun since my conviction.

Im thinking its 50/50 i might be able to purchase a new gun
if you do, its a records error, and you will still be able to be charged with a state, or fed gun charge, with time up to 10 years in prison.

the thing is its not "legal" since your a felon, the second you possess that gun your breaking federal and state laws, it just a way for somebody to avoid backround checks.

I know at least in the state of MI, you can't ever own a gun if you've ever been convicted of a felony. For the rest of your life. And if you want to play around and get caught with a gun, you get a charge far being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm which carries a rediculously large prison sentence. As far as I know, nobody who has ever been convicted of a felony is legally allowed to own a firearm.

and on a side note, I heard something about packing your drugs within a large amount of coffee grounds and the K-9 wont detect them. never had to test it, but I heard something about the dogs can't detect the smell of weed through the overwhelming aroma of Folgers.

If you been convicted of a felony, its illegal for you to have a gun no matter what state u in. MI might be different, but in NV, AZ and i think in cali too, an ex-felon in possession of a gun carries only a 2 yr sentence.

Well I don't know how your shit went down but it usually goes down like this. Your counsel is told the verdict by the Judge and then your lawyer tells you that you CAN NEVER OWN A GUN AGAIN and the Judge asks you if you understand that you'll be waiving that right. Then the bailiff tosses your ass in jail. At least here they do.

somethin like that

WHAT ABOUT SHOOTING RANGES DO THEY DO ANY KIND OF BACK GROUND CHECK ON YOU OR THE GUN?...WE USUALLY BUST NEW STRAPS IN THE HOOD BUT IF I COULD TAKE IT TO THE RANGE AND GIVE IT SOME EXTENSIVE FIELD TESTING THAT WOULD BE A BETTER DEAL. EXCEPT OF COURSE THE TRANSPORTING OF IT.

Shooting ranges dont do a background checc, but they do hold your ID while u shoot(at least every range i ever been to was like that). As far as your strap, ive been to ranges where they wanna see the registration on the gun before they let u shoot, and i've been to some where they dont give a fucc. Careful though, alot of retired cops be workin at gun stores. I seen this one straight take and keep this fools strap because he tried to take it into the range without the registration card. Me personally, I just go way the fucc out into the desert when i need to try out a new piece.
