Im sick of peoplr just making threads saying This album sucks or its bad. e-40 lyrics are amazing, still coming up with tight shit to say. I just dont understand people sometimes. its like the want the bay to blow and this but they want them to do it the 1996 way. which just wont do it now a days. but im not up here just saying breaking news is the best cd hes put out cuz its not. i love the cd i love e-40 i love the bay, quit hatin and just support
REAL TALK.... well said.

Ain't no one on here running round saying every track is fire, and everyone has their opinions, but how to hate on the whole album? If you tell me not one track makes your head move then all I can guess is you're that dude who used to be superman.

Name someone who put out a CD of back to back heaters recently? I'm just glad to hear a new 40 CD, yes there are a couple of wack cuts on it, but there are also 5-8 tight tight tracks, and as some other folks said on the other thread, most people is putting out albums with just one or two decent tracks and a load of recycled or tired garbage, 40 is still on top there.

We all FUCKIN know it aint gonna be a Federal or a In A Major Way again, how many times do we got to hear this, lol at the people who complain about recycled tracks one week, then seem to want they artist to drop the exact same thing they were doing 8 or 9 years ago.

It comes down to simple Maths. I'ma give you haters 'I Got Dat Work', I'ma give you 'This Goes Out', I'ma give you the Lil Jon tune. I'ma even give you 'One Night Stand', a tight track but okay one which takes gettin used to.

I'ma accept that tunes like Married To The Ave, That's A Good Look 4 U, and Wa La, take some getting used to, they aint easy to feel right off, but nonetheless 40 comes tight and hella funny with his spits, so we just put these to one side.

Now I'm gonna put in my list Breakin News, Hot, Quarterbackin, I Hope U Get This Kite, Act A Ass, Gasoline, Show & Prove, Northern Califoolya, If If Was A 5th (my favourite 40 track since the Charlie Hustle album) and that Pharmaceutical Outro. I'ma play any of those all year.

so takin both extremes we got 4 'weak' tunes, 3 'average' ones, and 9 or 10 which are still fire..... 9 or 10 which apart from for the 40 'historians', is going to make others sit up and listen.

If 40 had just put that 10 out, like he had some quality control, I guarantee people would be givin it so much love. Its just with 17, the repetiveness of the beats and the tired tracks, and the need to hit skip (same problem on Grit & Grind) which is why people are hatin.

But a weak album still with nine tracks of heat, or call it even five if you're being cold or have recently had music bypass surgery? Ha ha, lol.... and how many Bay albums do you pick up that have just 1 or 2 tight tracks, and you're not all on here hatin about them.

This is all certified bullshit. We all have our own opinions, but all this criticism and hatin on the album as a whole is just a bitch move unless the CD had just one or two decent cuts, and I don't want to hear no one come with those kind of wolf-tickets.

To me this album sounds like the left over tracks from the Grit and grind sessions. All the rick rock beats are bullshit for the most part. B-Legits last cd sucked for all the same reasons this cd does. Grit and grind was the shit. Breakin news is just shit.

I was feelin 4 tracks on the whole album:
Breakin News
Gasoline
Quarterbackin
Califooyla

and One Night Stand is OK.

And whoever said Im trying to list fact with this album, I never said that. This is my opinion. If you dont like it thats cool.

And it SHOULD be a fact that Bombay was garbage. The whole hip hop world knows that weak CDs come out. You think anyone in their right mind is feelin Kobe Soz? And Im not even puttin Breakin News on this level, just using the FACT that 80% of the people on this board said Bombay was TIGHT and then a year or two later it became one or two people...

by the way, some of you are being real immature and taking this like YOU are 40 or something! If you are E-40, PM me and if you want more detail Ill tell you why I dont feel this album...

HARD 2 B-LEGIT IS TIGHT....
Felt that CD a lot.... cant wait for legits next shit... just hope he doesnt get too fucking futuristic and shit with his beats... mess with bosko not ric roc..
Yeah, B-Legit sounded cool...the difference is that he was able to work the production to HIS advantage (on HARD 2 B-LEGIT).

HARD 2 B-LEGIT had more "pickin' up chicks and mackin'"-type songs and not as many Gangsta-type songs, but it wasn't that hard for me to adjust--The Savage had done songs about being a Playa and mackin' to the ladies before ("City 2 City", "Touch You There", "Rap Star", "Tramp Dogs", etc.). And most of the beats on HARD 2 B-LEGIT weren't too far off from HEMPIN' AIN'T EASY (which I dug, even if didn't equal THE HEMP MUSEUM, and how many CDs do? LOL!). Just my opinion, though.

PEACE!

Do you remember back when Mr. Doc "Bombay" came out? A bunch of people said it was the shit! 5 stars! No one wanted to admit that Doc put out an album that sucked, until about 2 years later word finally got out that it was bullshit!
lol when was this???...everyone i know says all of his albums are garbage except settrippin bloccstyle...but anyways i thought the e-40 album was solid...the real reason everyones probly hatin on it is becuz its more mainstream..and we all know the majority of the people on this forum hate mainstream hip hop...

kontac: You is right, but alot of cats don't see what life is like outside of tha Yay, so they can't see how shit is in tha south and southeast and midwest. RepYoCity was not felt by 99% of tha Yay, but it was on heavy heavy rotation in tha south, midwest and southeast. That LilJon song will definitely be big in tha south, midwest and southeast again, but not here. I'm actually tryin to do some remixes for him on that LilJon song, Act A Ass and Northern Califooya. This album after a few listens sneaks up on ya like some good afghan hash and then bites ya in tha eardrum. Too bad alot of cats ain't feelin it, for now........Hopefully shit will change for tha better. Peace y'all.

40 has been using this formula (the most popular artist features and way different beats) for quite a few albums now and I'd be interested in what his Soundscans are at for each album after "The Element Of Surprise". If the music pleases him, that's one thing, but what have the changes reflected in sales? Has it been worthwhile moneywise?

PS-I'm listening to the album again right now to see if more of it will grow on me.
