whatever you happened to grow up on is probably what you prefer. i started watching mma at the end of the 90's, thanks to ken shamrock turning to pro wrestling (lol. & as i recently found out, the legendary bret hart played a role in that). the sport has evolved greatly, & i cant say its all been for the better. point-fighting, the prevalence of wrestling, & fights being more mechanical than raw & organic have all lead to me be disappointed on many occasions. in my opinion the sport was more exciting when it was less refined.
that being said, heres my opinion--- a boring boxing match is worse that a boring mma fight, if only because it lasts longer. an exciting boxing match has a build-up the likes of which you cant find in mma. however, a good mma fight is far more unpredictable, & is far more likely to have those big "oh shit" moments that leave an impression.
i still consider myself an mma fan first and foremost, but both sports have & will continue to provide me with endless hours of entertainment. czar is kinda trollin with this thread. GOT EM!!
