I don't know if anyone is trying to justify anything. The main question is, why does it even matter to anyone that's not financially involved with any of it? The only time I complain about anything to do with money in boxing is when guys are grossly underpaid for putting their bodies and minds on the line, other than that I really don't care how much money a fight brings in.
Neither HBO, K2, Golden Boy, or Golovkin are going to ruined or hurt by this one PPV in the least bit.
I'm going to watch any fight on any platform, my main question going into any fight is is it a fight between 2 top 15 fighters in the division or for a major title in the division? If the answer to that is yes then I'm fine (obviously different for fights involving prospects). I don't see how anyone can change their perspective on a fight on whether other people watched it, what promotions they fight under, or what channel it's on.
There's a card coming up on 11/4 in Russia that's filled with good fights and it's likely to only be broadcast there and maybe in the UK. We're in an age where nearly everything is made available and I don't really care how the promoters/providers line their pockets as long as the fighters aren't getting dicked.
