How about...a Pacman vs. Soto fight on the undercard of De La Hoya getting murdered...I mean, fighting Margarito.
De La Hoya wont fight Margarito.....Simply cuz of 2 things. 1 he will get murdered, and 2 Margarito isnt a big name like Pacman thus doesnt generate the kind of payday he's interested in.

I'd love to see a DLH/Margarito fight. That's what ''we'' deserve, I'd think...not DLH trying to beat up on a smaller (yet very skilled, fast, and strong) Manny.

Just for that, I hope Manny knocks him through the ropes in the first round, 20 seconds in.

Got a few days off and leeching the Olympic boxing scraps now. Andrade looked pretty bad in his opening fight against the georgian even though he won, the shit was way too close. Hopefully it was just nerves ..

Correa and Iglesias of Cuba and Korobov of Russia were pretty impressive. Still gotta go through a grip of fights though heh.

I'd actually put some money up if that happens in the next 9 months or so...I'm not making a bet if this takes place in 2 years.

Start saving your pennies, homie...
If Marquez gets past Casamayor, then maybe he can challenge Guzman, since Guzman will be the unified champion and own 3 out 4 belts by then.

But most likely not since Marquez has publicly ducked guzman already (at 130) and wants nothing to do with him. I can provide links if you want

the guy in my sig getting owned by guzman? nah, that's a pointless fight. I mean it would probably be entertaining though but pacquaio should handle him with ease. I'd prefer pacman to go after either the winner of guzman/campbell or marquez/casamayor. But if he wants a tune up fight before then the Venezuelan KO artist would be a good opponent, plus he's internationally known as well.

Winner of Casamayor/Marquez > everyone else in the division. Casamayor is the man in the division, even though it should be Santa Cruz.

Pac trains for his fighter, not for his fight.
His style has been different his last couple of times out, rather bieng the 1 dimensional fighter he was years ago. His style worked, but by training for his fighter he stepped his skill level up a notch.

I really don't see anyone beating Manny for a good year or two. Guzman probably has the best shot...but he needs to step up his competition before going in with Manny. His most impressive win (to me) on his resume is Barrios, he would won a close split in. Just don't see it happening. Manny would take it 116-112 if not by more...

Winner of the Guzman/Campbell fight will be the unified champion of the division. Winner of casamayor/marquez will have the ring belt. If pacquiao wants to unify the division he'll have to take on guzman/campbell. You don't need the ring belt to unify, although that would be a bigger payday most likely.

As far as I'm concerned, the man of the division is Nate Campbell.

how can you call that fight close? Guzman won that fight hella easy, I dont know what the judges were smoking to score it so close, I, as well as the announcers, were shocked when they said split decision. That's like saying de la hoya vs mayweather was close because officially it was a split decision when in reality mayweather won by like 4 points.

But you're right about him needing to step up, and that we'll see next month against nate campbell.

Like I said.

I'll put cash on it.

End of discussion, unless the fight is signed. Then talk to me.

LOL
Ok, no problem. Just remember when Marquez had the opportunity to unify he said hell nah

Marquez’s substitute foe is going to be Rocky Juarez. That’s the new situation and Juarez was locked in only after the Marquez handlers adamantly refused to fight undefeated WBO champ Joan Guzman. Manager Jose Nunez pushed hard for the Marquez unification bout but the Marquez camp said no, no no and hell no.

So Guzman and Mexican hardman Humberto Soto will collide on Nov. 17.

Lineal champ > sanctioning body belts IMO. Casamayor is the man that beat the man and until he loses at that weight he's the guy to beat and as long as he keeps taking fights like Katsidis and Marquez he'll remain that, assuming he wins.

That doesn't say much....

Nate Campbell isn't a step up to me either. Diaz needed to put his law books down and focus on boxing. All that part time attorney junk bothers me. I hate part time boxers. It's fine if you can't make ends meet but Diaz was doing fine. Same with Brock (accountant). Anyways, ya he's fighting Campbell. Anything less than a clear UD by Guzman in that fight would be a disapointment.
