he admitted to nothing. he did the smart thing. he said as far as he knew it was flaxseed oil and arthritic balm. they have no evidence on him and as long as he keeps denying it, eventually it will blow over and most will forget about it. obviously there will be people that hate him for it and bring it up every chance they get but most wont care. at the time it was legal in baseball.

ty cobb was hated by most as well as many other old timers but who the hell hates them now?

- Bonds' trainer Greg Anderson said Bonds used "the cream" and "the clear" which were undetectable steroids

- Bonds admitted using "a cream" and "a clear substance"

- Giambi told Anderson he wanted to start doing what Bonds was doing, Anderson put him on "the cream" and "the clear," yesterday Giambi admitted that he was knowingly using these steroids

- Gary Sheffield testified that Bonds told him to use "the cream" and "the clear," saying, "Don't ask any questions, just trust me"

- Victor Conte told an IRS investigator that Bonds obtained steroids from Balco

- Balco has schedules of Bonds' steroid use and payments dating 2001-2003

Even a Bonds fan can put two and two together.

Anderson is his long time friend so why would he give him something that's illegal and not tell Barry? Barry knew period. Just like Sammy Sosa knew he was using a corked bat.

Yeah, his mass increased by an unnatural amount, his head got bigger, and he suggested it to Sheffield saying "trust me" and "don't ask questions," but he didn't know what was going on.

Who fucking cares? You guys sound like a bunch of little girls.

Roids don't help you swing a bat and hit a ball. They make you stronger, but Bonds was hitting home runs long before any steroid use...I don't see what the big deal is.

First of all we are not sounding like little girls. Roids don't help you swing a bat and hit a ball but they "enhance" you to hit them further. Barry admitted taking them when he broke the home run record. The big deal is this dude cheated the sport of baseball by using drugs to enhance his performance. He had pitchers purposely walking him because they were scared to pitch to him.

Even if that is true...so what? He's not the first, and he won't be the last.

Why do people all of the sudden care if these guys are using? Roids don't make someone become a great athlete.

I really don't care what they do...just keep up the entertainment.

yeah, fuck Bonds. The only way to punish him is to give him away to the A's and let them deal with his antics. He's the prototypical Beane-type player anyways, high on-base % and slugging. This solves the Giants public relations and helps the A's win the world series. It's a win-win situation. :)
haha I'm sure Beane would love to have him, he does fit the moneyball numbers in most areas... Except salary!

So that makes it ok?

Because he's about to break the biggest record in baseball and we're finding out that he was using banned substances to do it.

When Bonds used roids he played at a higher level than ever. The sudden improvement in performance doesn't fit with your theory.

Some people think of the game as more than simply "entertainment."

fucking thank you. thats what i've been saying.

bonds has always adamantly denied taking them.

in baseball, when u get tested for steroids, u get tested twice. The first time is kept confidential. If u pass, u dont take it again, and its obvious what the outcome was. The second time, is made public, and thus the punishment ensues. Bonds has already been tested once...he hasnt been again.

It's OK with me. I really don't care. Use 'em...don't use 'em...doesn't matter.

He wasn't using his whole career. He was smashing home runs in Pittsburgh.

What is my theory? He doesn't play at a higher level. Only one aspect of his game has improved. He doesn't run any faster or field any better than he used to.

I know people who have used steroids...you don't have a sudden improvement in hand-eye coordination...or gain this great bat speed. If anything, you become slower and less mobile (If bulking).

Like who? Baseball is a fuckin' game. It's here to entertain. If it didn't, it wouldn't be around.

^^^exactly, this isnt like betting on baseball....people think homeruns are STRICTLY power...its not...look at douche bags like Steve Finley whos like 5 10 and 180 pounds when wet, and he hit 36 homers or something. baseball talk is always spewed and thrown around by people who dont know anything about it. If he was bulking, regardless, like it was said before, he should be less mobile.

Look at someone like McGwire, and how he tapered off...he had one fantastic year out of like, the last eight of his career, and he was always riddled with injury. Bonds has stayed healthy, and has only GOTTEN BETTER. McGwire had such a long ass 3/4 swing, where he could only hit inside pitches, and anyone with gas would blow the ball right past him. Im not saying bonds didnt use any sort of a supplement, but look at the bigger picture. its like, even Jim Rome criticized the media for not congratulaing Bonds enough. 700 home runs????? WHAT THE FUCK?!!?!?!? 700... HOME RUNS...and the guy probably has 2-3 more good years in him! thats good! he MIGHT, slightly, be able to play 4! who knows? any true baseball fan might not like the steroid use, but trust me, i'd much rather watch Bonds go for the record then someone like A-Rod or Pujols or Lance Berkman try to do it.

Bonds scares not just pitchers, but WHOLE teams, and what angers ME is that baseball has become so fucking FOCUSED on steroid use and home runs, its like...what happened to fucking strategy? what happened to not letting one person run the game (Bonds)? yeah, walk him...but thats fucking bullshit too. the giants are like, the 5th largest crowd drawer for away games, and its ONLY b/c of Bonds.

the big problem here, what im saying is, is that people accept walking bonds, not playing the game it should be, and focusing on a stupid problem thats been building up for like, 5 years. GET OVER IT!

Typical of a SF fan.

Your attempt to compare HR's in Pittsburg to HR's in SF is laughable. He hit 73 home runs when he started juicing. That is a HUGE jump for an OLD MAN.

He started juicing in 2001. He hit 73 home runs in 2001. You can't argue that steroids didn't help because the numbers show otherwise.

Like baseball fans. Like the A's fans who are condemning Giambi and saying to take away his MVP trophy he got in Oakland. Like the Yankees fans who want Giambi dropped from the Yankees. Being a Giants fan your attitude doesn't suprise me, Giants fans only go to games to watch Barroids hit home runs, most of them don't even know the names of 3 other players on the field.

Every year I go to at least one or two A's games in SF and their fans are the biggest morons on the planet. They don't even pay attention to the game except for when Bonds is batting. They stand and cheer like he hit a ball 700 ft. when he pops out to the shortstop. I've had countless conversations there with fans who don't even know who's on the mound for the Giants at that given time, let alone how he's pitched that season. Giants fans come to be part of a scene, to wave rubber chickens and to watch Barroids hit home runs. In other stadiums fans come out to watch the game.
