Because you have a high GPA does not mean you are not a right winged republican with your views. Anyways I dont believe you're in college let alone a cultural anthropologist because you sound like Rush Limbaugh with that bullshit about Slavery not affecting me or blacks anymore. How the fuck can you discount a system of oppression that built the financial structure of the entire country? There are families still rich from the slavery money that was made in the 17th and 18th century.
First of all, I'm not a RIGHTY or a LEFTY! I tend to go with whoever makes the most sense...I sit right in the middle...an Independent cat. Don't believe I'm in college, that doesn't affect me. Fact of the matter is, I go to school, I learn shit, and I'm good at it, because I leave my mind open...and I argue with people when they slant shit. I aced Cultural Anthropology, which was slanted towards people of Spanish and Indian heritage because my professor was Mexican and loved to sway everything towards indigenous and Spanish cultures. I got him to talk about EVERYBODY, not just what he wanted to talk about. I'll fax you a copy of my Bachelor's Degree when I get it, if you really doubt me.
Another thing, I'm not discounting anything. I know people are still living off slavery money. I just want to know why you're still focused on that shit though, when you should have your head up and be determined to do whatever the fuck you have to in order to make your situation better and help other folks in your community rise above it???? AM I WRONG for thinking people can uplift themselves and those around them, regardless of the circumstances??

I feel what what you saying man, you're getting it twisted. I'm not one of those cats who sits around and blames slavery for all our problems. I just know they are the CAUSE of all of our problems. Slavery, Institutionalized racism, oppression. Blacks need to stop sitting around and complaining and not DOING anything about it. My point is those are the causes but we cannot dwell on that. Huh? First of all "Race" is a made up term. There is technically no such thing as a Race since all humans have the same genetic make up. There are however three make ups that humans come in. As a white / Mexican who looks / identifies white, I often have a hard time discussing this shit with my black patnas. They wanna act like every single roadblock in their life is part of a greater scheme, and they look so hard to connect the dots that they find an excuse or answer for everything inside this elusive, multi-tiered scheme to stop Black people.
And yes, Sydal is an idiot, race DOES matter. It seems like every wigger on the Sicc always wants to pull out that colorblind card because they feel less valued or important in hip-hop when race has meaning.
But the fact of the matter is no matter for as many Cointelpros, Emmet Tills, Black Wall Streets, and James Byrds, there are Black men and women out there making self-destructive choices on a day to day basis and defending it by invoking the almighty conspiracy.

1. "Im about my money I get money" and the obsession with materialism in the Black community is the result of a large-scale attempt to assert oneself as "not broke" and "not a *****". In fact it is what keeps Black people from real wealth or money as people clamor for clothes, cars, and meaningless trinkets and jewelry.
2. The idea (honestly believed by many Black folks, esp. among youth) that a Black man or a Black woman can not be faithful - that the sex drive of Black people is such that to not have sex or have sex with a single partner is impossible. This is also steeped in racism / white supremacist beliefs and another completely changeable, preventable factor.
