...straight through and doing color commentary on all of them. Granted, it's Jay's 38th birthday and all. But on a day when one of the South's legends has died and one of the Bay's pioneers is fighting for his life, can't he switch up the play list just a little? Von is running KMEL into the ground and this is coming from an older cat who remembers the glory days of the early-to- mid 90s at that station. Sad indeed.

jay has an album out right now and there may be money behind certain stations playing certain songs. radio is big business... but you're right, it would be nice to hear some UGK and some spice 1 on stations right about now

I dunno, Von seemed pretty enthusiastic adding his 2 cents in on every Jay-Z track. Didn't seem like he was being forced to do anything there w/ payola. He had enough pull, though, to fuck with Fabby's career.

why the fuck does anyone listen to that radio bullshit anymore, especially when they claim bay but dont play the shit and stick to gay mainstream. its probably not the djs fault though seeing that every radio station is owned by the same company that owns all the pop labels.

big von is the music director for 106, he plays a big part in what gets aired. i agree, jay is my favorite artist, but today, he really needs to be playing some spice and definetly some pimp c.
