LCD more expensive, but superb quality.

Plasma less expensive than LCD. Even if you're look at the TV from a side view its just looking you're in front of the TV.

DLP's are the big screens which are less expensive than LCD's but are right around the same price as Plasmas. Heavier then both Plasmas and LCD's.

I got a 63 inch Mistsubishi HD. It retails over 2500.00, but I paid $800 for it from my brother. Players price ya heard?

Why not pay less and get a TV with a screen at least 10 inches larger?

I don't understand paying like 2 g's for a 40" LCD when you could pay 1500 for a nice 50/52" Plasma.

I was in the drug store the other day and was looking at consumer reports and it echoed everything that I said.

Bigger = Plasma
Lots of light in your room = LCD
Movies & true black = Plasma
Computer use = LCD

You don't buy a Ferrari if you want to go rally racing. Every purchase has factors that need to be considered. What your wants for your TV include and how you will use it as well as price are significant factors that you need to consider.

Saw a black friday deal for a Magnavox 42" that has 1080P.

Couldn't find alot of reviews for a Magnavox except for similar model from a year ago that got 77/100 rating. Don't wanna cop it if nobody has love for Magnavox - especially when I read that they're not part of Phillips anymore.

Like other have said, it all depends on your wants and needs. If you want a larger TV (over 42") you can either go with a plasma, or pay a little less and go with DLP. And between those, if you want it to mount on the wall, then you would choose Plasma. If you have a TV stand then go with DLP. DLP is a rear projection and has a deeper black than LCD. If you want smaller than 42", then definately go with an LCD. Make sure that whatever you get it's 1080P.
