so maybe 4000 totall...thats weak, click used to go gold now bela cant break 5k first week...rap game has gone down hill
On the Contrary, that is a good amount for the first week. For an independant artist like b-la who is getting 7 dollars a record that is a solid week. I hope he can maintain the course and continue to sell a couple thousand a week. The rap game has not gone down hill either. It is changing however, so we gotta evolve with the game as well. Good Luck to B-Legit, i know he has fans everywhere and will do solid numbers as usual.

4,000 in the first week is better than 95% of all bay area rappers sell total units on each album. if one of my guys move 4000 units i'm happy as fuck. trust me, he gonna move some units.

^^I WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THAT HE WOULD HAVE SOLD MORE THAN THAT JUST IN THE BAY-AREA ALONE, I MEAN THOSE ARE GOOD NUMBERS BUT HE MUST HAVE LIMITED DISTRIBUTION... IF NOT HE COULD HAVE DONE THOSE NUMBERS JUST OFF THE SICCNESS HYPE ALONE ASWELL.

95% of bay area rappers aren't legends with their names on cd's that went gold and platinum back in the day, and have their new shit in every best buy

4000 units is damn good considering the state of the Bay Areas market. We just now starting to get mild radio support, somethin we haven't consistently had for almost 10 years. Our music was replaced by mainstream for so long, the buying market totally gave up on us for the Jay-Z's and Cash Money's of the world. The Bay hasn't independently sold big numbers in years so it shouldn't be expected to do so overnight, that's just not gonna happen.

That 4000 units moved represents that buying market slowly gaining faith in their homegrown artist, and over time the support will come back and numbers will consistently grow as long as radio and other types of media continue to do their part. B-Legit is smart enough to understand this process, and I'm 100% sure he will be out doing all he can to support this record as his promotions kick in, and word of mouth grows. 4000 sold is a success to all who think logically in today's world and not base his units sold on his past success.

^^ yup real convo....4000 is real nice...even for "blegit who has been involved in gold records blah blah blah"..u must remember this an inde artist who has had SHORT STINTS at nationwide fame...i stress short stints...cuz thats real..and he deserved every minute.every fan and every dollar..and with his consistency and hustle..he will continue to do well

and @Justin..your crazy bro...4000 in a week just on siccness hype alone? haha i dont think u really embrace the understanding of how many 4000 is...just in the bay? first week?: your nuts guy....i see what u mean u expect him to move more but lets use a lil logic homie

Exactly, and Mack 10's is on a major... I think alot of yall got the wrong impression and are thinking of sales based on how majors push they records. Yall need to remember this is a indy pushed project with lesser budgets which mean even with less sales, more money is made for the artists... Fuck soundscan right now, niggas need to realize we the under dog of the industry and countin a niggas first week numbers is silly. 6 months to a year from now this album will have more impact numbers wise where it counts.

4,000 good shit bela can sit back and sell at least 10,000 when cats like us got to go out and hustle to push at least that many shit if I didn't go out there and hustle I would not push as many beats by the bay as I did his album is tight
