transit cops walk around with a stick up their ass- I ride bart everyday to my office and they harass the SHIT out young black and latino men. Forreal? you mistook your gun for your tazer? Come the FUCK on.
and even if it's true that he did mistake his gun for a taser, then thats still manslaughter, and he needs to go to jail.

but they haven't even charged this muthafucka for anything yet. he hasn't even held a press conference, much less speak to anybody about the situation. something is definitely wrong here.

It's obvious he releases the safety.. he knew he wasn't holding no fuckin taser!! if this punk ass pig does not get life, BAY AREA BETTER STAND UP! this is worse than the Rodney King incident, if not, just as bad, we're talking about a public execution while the man is down! I couldn't believe my eyes seeing that clip. It coulda happened to any one of us....

This remind me of Sean Bell(RIP) but they shot him 51 times,
and they still got away with it...
I thought once they got off that people would kick up dust,
and start to riot, loot etc.... like they did in L.A. for Rodney King but they did'nt...
We can not let this be the case for Oscar Grant......

Don Cameron, a former BART police sergeant and weapons expert who now teaches police officers about proper use of force, said Monday that he had watched footage of Grant's death and was convinced that the officer had meant to fire a Taser - a device that he said BART began using recently.

Footage taken from inside a BART car by a phone camera, first shown by KTVU television, shows officers forcing Grant to the ground and trying to hold him down. One officer appears to try to put cuffs on him before drawing his weapon and firing. In the video, Grant appears to struggle with the officers, though it is unclear exactly what he was doing.

Cameron said he made his conclusion based in part on the officer's stance, and the fact that a second officer moved away from Grant just before he was shot, perhaps trying to avoid a second-hand shock.

"If someone was actively resisting, which it appeared this guy was, the device to use would be the Taser, to overcome his resistance," Cameron said. "The Taser is a great controlling device. But if you grab the wrong device, you kill somebody."

damn this dood is so full of shit...you can see the other cop is still on him trying to detain him when he draws the gun...he still had a hand on him when the trigger was pulled im sure if he was going to taze him you would think he would have told the other officers to back up, you can see the other cop jump off at the very last second prolly cuz he didn't want no ricochet comin back at his ass, if not just a natural reaction to step the fuck back when steel pops off...looks like he still had a hand on him when the gun went off...mix up my ass that shit aint gon fly, his taser is on the front of his belt, his strap is on the side where every other police officer in uniform keeps it..

My theory has always been that alot of cops become cops not to protect and serve but because of the unrestranied power they get. Alot of cops are just looking for something to pop off so they have a reason to pop off.

^exactly. thats what i always thought as well...in my mind they wanna know what its like to kill somebody without any consequences or little risk involved, and what better way than to become a cop...most of them aren't man enough to get put in the shit in places like iraq and afghanistan where you know people will shoot back.

The Chronicle identified the officer involved as 2-year veteran Johannes Mehserle.

is he Hispanic? think again.....
yea ..i couldn't tell you the origins of his name i aint no expert but that shit does not sound hispanic. and dood in the video who shot him didnt look like it either. imo i think thats the feds or the media putting a spin on it so it don't become about race and shit don't pop off like the rodney king riots...its a bad time right now...we in recession jus like when that shit went down...thats the last thing we need is a riot in the town from a gov't stand point...
