Lil B Receives Threats For 'I'm Gay' Album Title

Prolific rapper says he is straight but supports gay and lesbian rights

Rapper Lil B has received death threats after announcing last weekend at Coachella that his next album would be titled I'm Gay. "People been hitting me up like, 'I'm gonna bash your head in,' 'you faggot,' 'I'm gonna kill you,'" Lil B told MTV News on Thursday. "A lot of my supporters have turned on me. It's been a few supporters that's saying, 'I'm not gonna rock with you anymore,'" he said.

According to the extraordinarily prolific emcee, the title of the forthcoming album has nothing to do with his sexuality. "I'm very gay, but I love women. I'm not attracted to men in any way. I've never been attracted to a man in my life. But yes I am gay, I'm so happy," the rapper told MTV News. "I'm a gay, heterosexual male."

After Lil B announced the album title at Coachella, a spokesman for the Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation told XXLMag.com that the organization hoped that the title was not merely a gimmick and that move was a "sincere attempt to be an ally" to their cause. Lil B told MTV, "I got major love for the gay and lesbian community, and I just want to push less separation and that's why I'm doing it. I hope GLAAD sees that I'm taking initial steps to break barriers."

^He isn't doing anything to break barriers, he's trying to get attention and he's getting it. If it makes him money and grants him success, good for him and I'm truly never mad at that...just a strange fuckin way to go about it and sadly will reflect poorly on the Bay Area's rap scene

where can I listen to some tracks off the album? post a link. I never buy before I try anymore.

why do people from the bay hate on their own homegrown artists so much? you can pretty much name any rapper from the bay and there will be a group steady hatin on dude. the only rapper from southern cali that gets that kind of hate is game and he brings it on himself.

I feel what your saying.

the only rapper from southern cali that gets that kind of hate is game and he brings it on himself.
However, this is the case in this thread :ermm:

And it was blown way out of proportion in here. Calling your fans fags and motherfuckers? Telling them to, "Shut the fuck up!" LOL! What do you expect?

I didn't bother reading past the first page, I've seen threads like this before. even e-40 catches hate. to me, that would be like ice cube or dj quik getting hated on in the southern cali forum. shit just wouldn't make any sense.

And your right! It would be hella stupid for Cube (or Cune as some in here would call him :cheeky: ) or Quik to go online and start disrespecting their fans.

Any rapper would catch hate talkin to dudes like this man. This thread probably talked a lot of people out of buying the album that were thinking about it.

It's easy to get bent out of shape if someone is dissing your album but when you start a thread saying you're the best rapper out there right now and then get your feelings hurt when someone disagrees with that opinion, NO ONE is gonna have sympathy on that and definitely not on the siccness of all places.

Rappers have a tendency to do this on the sicc for some reason. Killa Tay, Woodie and Jay Tee are/were 3 of the best examples I've seen on how to carry yourself on the sicc. You take stuff with a grain of salt like Dutch said and just keep movin and interacting with people that will potentially be buying your music or maybe even hitting you up to get on their album someday.

i was on the fence about buying this album..until i came in here & saw ap9 making an ass of himself.

the production sounds great on Relentless. lyrically though, AP9 is the same exact artist he was 10 years ago, for better or for worse. straightforward, no real word play or clever metaphors, no humor or punchlines. i can see how 30+ tracks of it could get repetitive, fast.

if i wanted to be extra critical, it seems like AP9's already told his story & doesnt really have anything left to offer except the same thing over & over again on better beats. nothing memorable, no surprises.

i was still gonna buy the shit anyway cuz the beats are slappin and the lyrics are solid enough.. fuck it, i'll just pop Head Shotz back in.
