I lost about 30lbs and 7% body fat on it. Wanted to bulk up a little bit, but it ended up being a dirty bulk, where I gained a lot of the fat back. So, had to do another cut...this time didn't do the p90x, but I'm down to about 12% BF.
Right on. Glad to have u in this thread. What was ur starting and ending bodyfat with p90x? what about ur starting weight? What made you have a dirty bulk?

Alright....
Just did the day two plyometrics workout. That one is no ho. Felt like my fuckn lungs were bleeding at about the 20 minute mark. I was regreting the 2 sour diesel bong hits I took before bed last night. As far as the diet goes I'm eating less than it reccomends. It's sayn I should be at 3000 calories a day. Yesterday I clocked in around 2200. Today is my bzs bday and she wants to go get pizza tonight. I am going to eat a max of two pieces and that will still be within the low carb phase one parameters.

By the way Palmer, are you taking any kind of supplements?

Here's what I'm taking: GNC brand multi vitamin energy and metabolism formula
900mg fish oil
5g creatine monohydrate
glucosimine/chondron
and Noexplode preworkout

I have three different proteins:
optimum nutrition hydrolyzed whey for recovery(I also mix a teaspoon of glutamine in recovery drink) and I drink 8oz grape juice for an insulin spike post workout.
optimum nutrition pro blend for normal supplementation
and bsn syntha-6 for meal replacement.

I get all my shit from gnc for free....
Right on man. Just got done doing plyos, I'm fuckin spent. When he said we were at the half way point I wanted to lay down and go to sleep. Feeling good though.

Not taking any supplements other than a scoop of protein powder in my daily smoothie. I'm really only trying to burn fat and lose weight. Not too concerned with building muscle or strength....but most of all because I quit my job a few months ago and I'm a soon to be full time student so I just can't afford it. I wish I had a GNC plug like you got though, I'd be taking all kinds of shit. I'm just sticking to the abs diet, trying to eat as much protein as possible, taking a multi-vitamin, and drinking lots of water, that's pretty much my plan in a nutshell.

Good luck with the two slices of pizza. Tomorrows my grandmas birthday so we're all going to an Italian restaurant. I'm going to TRY and just sit there and drink water then come home and eat my normal dinner, but we'll see how that goes.

Just try to keep the carbs as low as possible. People who eat a lot of carbs tend to underestimate their calories per day, and people who don't eat many carbs tend to overestimate.

I'd take the latter for fat loss.


Good luck everyone. I personally skipped the Yoga and replaced that with a cardio session. That's just me though.
low carbs for fat loss for sure

not sure how the P90X diet works specifically

but when I lost about 20 pounds I ate most of my carbs in the morning, before and after my workout (I was lifting in the early afternoon at that time)

kep the protein high though... and get in some healthy fats and veggies

I started at around 23% BF...after the p90x (one round) I was at around 15% BF. The measurements done using calipers. But I weighed around 184 when I started, and ended up at around 158.


What made me have a dirty bulk is that I'm a fat bastard at heart, and during a bulk, you're supposed to eat a surplus of calories/protein to increase muscle size.

Well, give me a free pass to pig out and I'm going hard in the paint like Kevin McHale. I did add a lot of mass, but a lot of fat as well.


Did another cut, not using p90x, and I'm down to about 12% BF now. Shooting for 10%. The greatest part about it, IMO is that I still eat fat bastard shit: burgers, eggs, bacon, cheese, mayo, ranch sauce...etc...minus the carbs :(

Made it out on two pieces of pizza and a side salad.
@morebass I'm at about 20% bf. I got calipers. Do you think it's possible for me to get under 10%? I plan on doing doubles. Also what do you think you could have done better with p90?
@palmer are u in Seattle? I went to the rock pizza in lynnwood tonight. Also I wanted to say if ur tryin to incorporate the abs diet inton p90x be careful. The reason I say that is abs has u eat a lot of carbs in the smoothies and dairy.

Nice, I know exactly where that's at, on 196th. I grew up in Edmonds on 196th (approx 2 miles west of the rock). I'm up in Everett now, still pretty close to there though.

Thanks for the tip. The only carbs I'm taking in are whole wheat breads/tortillas/pastas/brown rice/quinoa, and the fruit in my smoothie. The only dairy I'm taking in is the 10 oz of milk in the smoothie and a very small amount of cheese.

It can definitely be done, but you'd really have to clamp down on the diet and be militant with it. Keep the carbs under 50g a day, and make sure to take in enough protein.

Instead of doing the Cardio X, if you're doing doubles...add Plyometrics on upper body workout days. I did that for the 2nd, and 3rd phases and it was really when I started to see the most results. If you can stand it, do the Plyo or other cardio in the morning before you eat. Just sip some BCAA's (Xtend) so you don't use your lean muscle as fuel.

What I could have done better was really just be more disciplined with the diet. I had a Vegas and LA trip in between the program, and it threw me off for a little bit, both times.

My theory is fuck a diet during getaways. LOL

Arms n shoulders done. Overall good workout. I have two 35lb dumbells and adjustable ones. I found myself swapping weights a lot and pushing pause a lot. Ab ripper is a rough one too. Plyo feels good from yesterday. I'm prolly gonna go bust 30-45 mins of cardio on my bike later tonight.

I'm down in South Everett. In on 3rd between Everett Mall Way and 112th. Not sure where/what King Charlies is, but right over the tressle is pretty damn close.

Arms and Shoulders wasn't nearly as brutal as the first two days. I'm feeling good though. Pretty sore but I don't consider that a bad thing. Props on doing the extra cardio. I'm hoping my energy/motivation level is there by the 3rd phase.

Did the yoga today. Wasn't sure what to expect but the first half was hell. Afterwards I felt good tho. I'm goin to Hawaii tomorrow for a week. I think Ima buy a cheap BBQ and cook most of my own food while I'm there. I made the decision that I won't drink more than one day, if I drink at all. I lived there for 3 years before so I already got tree waitin in case I need to b not sober. I'm gonna stick to the schedule of p90 but do my own version at the gym and 30-45 mins of cardio.

Legs and back done. I just spent the best dollar of my life on a massage chair at the airport.
I was not excited when the ab ripper came on at the end. I forgot about that shit. Other than my muscles feel woken up. Not just from this last few days of p90 but because I been on the weights tuff for a lil bettr than two months. I feel real mobile and more agile than i've felt in a long time. I really think the yoga helped. No robo

Alright.... So i'm n Hawaii and don't have the videos or equipment to do p90 n my hotel room. So I got a trial pass at 24hout fitness down the street. Today was supposed to be kempo day. Instead I rode a bike at the gym. I was on the bike for a total of 60 mins. 3min warm up 1min high intensity, 1min low intensity... Alternated the 1minute intervals until the clock said 57mins, then 3min cool down. It was fuckn painful because legs were yesterday. I also switched my preworkout supplement from noexplode to noshotgun. And I got a new fat burner, animal cuts. I'll start the animal cuts on monday. Diet is still clean and I'm in motion.

Ok in Hawaii. Still eatn clean. Hit the gym with my Tongan homies today and was a lil embarrassed cuz of how much weight my folx r pushn in comparison. But them dudes can't do pullups like me. Haha. Anyways. 30 mins back n chest followed by 30 mins sprint intervals on the bike. I feel like I shoulda pushed harder today so I'll prolly bust some pushups later. This extra low carb shit got me tired. It's not undoable tho. Anyways that's it for today. GET YOKED OR GET CHOKED!!! haha peace

Wasn't gonna work out today cuz my ankle hurts hella bad(screws in it)
Manned up and did what I could. I brought the p90x fitness guide with me in my luggage and it's desciptive enough that I can do the dreaded plyometrics workout with the book. I only did 25 minutes of plyo cuz I'm feeln like I'm draggn ass for whatever reason. Either way I sweated my fuckn ass off and got somewhat of a workout in. Still eatn clean. The no carb thing is makn me feel sluggish tho. I'm sure that feeln will pass.

No workout yesterday. Ate light and clean. Drank 5 barcardi n diet cokes. Ate like 10 vicodin. Had the worst Earl session I can remember this morning. That is all.

Back in WA with a plan. My work ethic in Hawaii was similar to bj Penn. In the week I was there I worked out 3x. I ate pretty well. I did get drunk once and popped hella vicodin most of the trip.
My plan now is to make up the shit I missed. I'm doin shoulders n arm today and yoga tonight. Tomorrow I'll do legs n back n the am and kempo in the evening. Monday I'll add the x stretch and fall back into normal routine.
I was happy to b in the shape I'm currently in when I was in Hawaii. 215 is surely bettr than 245. But damn I was wishin I was 10% bf. Next time, next time.

I need to get back in shape, when you get over 30 you can lose it quick. I lost and gained back like 25-30 pounds in the last year
