Lots of cats on the siccness have hated Berner...

I never hated on dude but I have told him in the past to step his bars up ...

and he has done it...I've bought some of his CD's and I can honestly tell you it's 100% quality and that is what i look for from every artist...quality material.

I thought Berner was whack when he first came out but he stepped it up big time so i can't hate whatsoever, especially since he lives by the rule i try to live by which is

"the best investment is in yourself"

If you aint willing to cash out of your own pockets, then why should anyone else? Motha fuckers want hand outs and shit. Berner said fuck that and did it himself. u couldnt hate on that if u tried.

He was just statin his opinion. And in my opinion it's all about the music(beats, lyrics, hooks, delivery/voice, cadence). You can respect someone's hustle without likin they music. I don't listen to Berner so I aint really got a vibe on him yet.

Lyrical abilities in 2010 are absolutely irrelevant. It's about making hit records. I don't listen to Berner, but if he's making songs that people can feel and ride to it doesn't matter how lyrical he is/isn't.

On this "hating" topic. It's wayyyyyyy too many ppl on Siccness who hide their hateful intentions behind "it's just my opinion." Dedicating threads to call a nigga garbage is hating, who cares if it's your opinion. If you don't like something then don't support it. But just because you don't like it doesn't mean you have to go out your way to talk down on it.

(Not directed at you Townbizz, I agree with some of what your saying, just being a devil's advocate to the conversation)

I think it's the exact opposite on siccness. Having an opinion is considered hate on here unless it's a positive thing. "Berner sucks" why is that treated any different then "Berner's my favorite"? It's usually a cop out. What if someone was a huge fan, bought all the albums, has all the posters, etc. and said "but that last album sucked" is it hating?

I don't agree with the poster, I don't listen to Berner, but he should be able to post what he wants. This message board is about discussion. On the whole "you wouldn't say that in real life" topic about posting on siccness, well if someone was stating their opinion on music in real life, would you get butt hurt and try to shut that person up? No, why do it online? If anything, if you don't like what a thread is about, you should forget about it and move to a different thread.

And how out of the way is it to post a topic online? I'm not just saying that because you said it but many posters use the "you're wasting your time" or "you have that much free time to post a topic online" comeback. It takes less then a minute to post anything, including a thread, on a internet message board.

I honestly feel like most of the time on Siccness it's not what you say it's how you say it, and what you don't say after it. Saying "Berner sucks" and leaving it at that has more of a "hating" undertone than it an "opinion" one. I was taught to back up everything I say, whether that means doing or explaining. What's an opinion without explaining why you hold it? If this really is a message board that promotes discussion like you say it is, why do so many people get mad when people call them on their "opinions"? I think the answer is because it ain't "opinion" it's "hate." And nobody wants to be revealed as a "hater" like you said. People who can state what they think and why they think it, even if it's negative, don't have to worry about ppl calling them haters because they aren't. The people who bounce from thread to thread saying "this is garbage" and not saying what's wrong with it are haters. They're haters until they prove otherwise.

Do I bump Berner? No I don't, but I have heard some of music and it's respectable in my opinion. Yes, respectable in the sense that I like how his music sounds, but it's not something that I'll actually bump for real. Yet, when he put's up a new video etc. I won't hesitate to click and give the man a listen.

I met dude once & he's a hell of a cool dude. I think the problem that we have with actual haters is: They take it personal and hate on that artist as a person when they never met, nor know anything about that artist as a person.

I'll put it like this, when I met dude I didn't even know who he was. Yet, he was out filming at a show and when I talked to dude he wasn't like some typical rappers out there spitting and throwing a Cd in your face.

Humble, cool, lay back dude. In the infamous words of J. Prince, "You don't have to like it, but you got to respect it."
