On the general discussion of SoundScan....
SoundScan DOES matter...everybody you talk to is gonna say they movin shitloads out the trunk cuz they don't gotta prove it. Once you try to move up in the game and you tryna get deals all that I sold blah blah out the trunk don't mean much. If you got a strong ass buzz then it may be beleivable...but most people inflate the "Trunk" #'s.

And the chains DO carry Indie artists...SoundScans formula takes in to account that some Indie stores are not covered...if you sell 1 unit at a Sam Goody it could actually count for more that 1 unit on your SoundScan because they figure if you sold 1 at a SoundScan store you prolly sold 1 at a non-soundscan store. I don't know the actual formula they use but they seem pretty damn close lately.

On The specific discussion of Wax & Smigg's SoundScan...
I wouldn't trip on the #'s . They both building that ever important buzz...and they fuckin with Brandon and Rocc so them #'s can only get bigger.

Sellin CD's aint easy in 2005. Damn near everybody on this mf knows the names A-Wax and Smigg and it seems that most folks like they music, but their SoundScans would make you think otherwise. If a mutha fukkas music gives you some kind of enjoyment and you think they shit is tight then buy it. Gettin checks feels good, but gettin your latest SoundScan and seeing those numbers feels good too.

I know soundscan is important I'm just saying I dont use that to gauge how successful my career is. I figure the more records you sell period whether in the streets, on the internet, in stores, whatever will only help you sell more records as your careeer develops.
