i do understand what you're talking about i just don't understand why you give a fuck. what kind of response did you want to your thread? if you have such a problem with bay area music right now why don't you listen to rap from somewhere else, or different genres of music.

Im just tryna express where we are headed man! I listen to music from everywhere but i prefer sum music from my own backyard mayne!
Once that happens people will start looking at the bay are rap scene lucrative like they was in the 90's. everybody is willin out so much that people dont wanna sign a bay artist due to there issues that they floss out in the open such as illegal business, drugs, gangs and all that other activity, yeah it happens in the mainstream but more than often in they bay.............

I agree with what Ispeakthetruth is saying for the most part.

Just curious Ispeakthetruth...who would you say are some bay artists (new or old) that are doing it right then?
As of right now..

San Quinn has always been raw to me! production/beats/promotion/shows. And I have to say.. If it wasnt for alot of this nonsense and stuff thats surrounded the bays talent, he might be signed to def jam or somebody big.
You would be surprised what certain things can get someone or a whole region blackballed or ignored....one person can spoil it for the rest. believe that.

I'd also have to say messy marv, although im not feelin the direction he's heading right now with some of the new stuff...
"draped up and chipped out " was cool. 1&2

E-40 & b-legit of course.

Keyshia Cole

Mac Mall.

Guce

killa keise

And before I end this reply I want to add C-Murder, believe it or not he reps for the bay, I've seen it and heard it. i still count him even though he moved down south.....Even when I would attend shows in early 2001 he was hollerin bay and richmond cali....

There are many more doin to. But theres alot of confusion also. Many flood the market because they want fame, or to outdo an opposing side, rap to impress people, make a quik buck (rerelasing material???)and it could go on.
If you wanna make music for your friends or people in your circle, stick to being a myspace rapper or go out the trunk w/your product. The store shelves are so full i've seen many place extend there rap section only to later have a majority of there bay area cd's on sale from 0.01-$1.00.
This is the key.
Be responsible, mature, business savy, and a good artist. Go out and get your paper, get you that big deal with interscope, shady, aftermath, emi, priority etc etc..
then if you wanna put your own label together with some raw talent , do that..this aint CB4, these majors just want something cool they can market.. be consistent. be yourself, trends are cool , but they fade within time, and new ones come and go.
the best thing is not to be labeled.. this way you have more opportunites to do things and network.......
