problem is most of these young bay rappers are just myspace rappers who doing exactly what mistah fab did 3 years ago.
maybe im not understanding ur connection between the myspace rappers and mistah fab...cuz as far as i know mistah fab got big off battle rappin and freestylin

im still not sure why everyone chooses to just pass off every rapper with a myspace as a myspace rapper...myspace is a great tool to get ur music heard worldwide...and as long as the artist is out there performin and releasin cd's, i see em the same as any rapper that was ever tryin to get heard

im not knockin mistah fab, im just saying since he's blown up, it seems like every young rapper from the bay is trying to be like him, and not bringing anything original to the table.

there's a few rappers from the Bay that are doing good, some even on world tour right now. dudes like Lyrics Born is on a world tour right now. some of your favorite bay artists should take notes from his work ethic and grind. i think zioni just got off a european tour as well.

some folks talking about their favorite bay artists switching up their styles and sometimes not liking it.. expand your musical horizons and listen to some shit you aint never heard of.. or maybe heard about

One of my blood OG homies from Westside Jungle SJ told me a long time ago...he said

"all frisco niggas do is snort coke all day and swear up and down that they are pimps".
I would laugh my ass of the way he would say it sounding angry...lmao

is this an understatement?? years later..

too many people lookin to artist of the past...u just need to start listenin to the young bay rappers that are makin good music (not hyphy)
Doesn't seem to me that ANYBODY is lookin' to the past and THAT is the problem. If the younger Bay rappers would just take a look/ listen to the past and take a few notes instead of blindly making the exact same mistakes that have already been made, they might actually start to make some progress. Honestly the biggest problem with most of the younger rappers is they all have the same style & swag. Nobody stands out. To me, (and I've been doin' this for a minute) they all sound the same. And I don't just mean the beats. Vocally they all sound like the nigga next door. Same cadences, same content, same voice. Like ispeakthetruth said, most of these young cats are biters nowadayz and I just cant respect that...

Im still not sure why everyone chooses to just pass off every rapper with a myspace as a myspace rapper...myspace is a great tool to get ur music heard worldwide...and as long as the artist is out there performin and releasin cd's, I see em the same as any rapper that was ever tryin to get heard
Damn straight. If theres a rapper out there who ain't usin' myspace to it's full ability then he's an idiot in my opinion. It's free marketing. Woulda cost you an arm, a leg, and an asscheek to get that kind of publicity/ marketing back in the day...

A word to the wise though, young cats need to stop tootin' their own horns. Let the fans decide if your tight or not. Save all your braggadocio for your raps. In all other things try to appear as humble as possible cause the truth of the matter is that many of you just aren't ready for prime time yet. Fans are very forgiving. If you appear humble they're more apt to come back and take a second and even a third listen to see if you've improved. If you're wack AND arrogant they'll make it their business to never listen to your shit again and even go so far as to campaign against you...

Im just tryna express where we are headed man! I listen to music from everywhere but i prefer sum music from my own backyard mayne!
Once that happens people will start looking at the bay are rap scene lucrative like they was in the 90's. everybody is willin out so much that people dont wanna sign a bay artist due to there issues that they floss out in the open such as illegal business, drugs, gangs and all that other activity, yeah it happens in the mainstream but more than often in they bay.............
i dont know, i feel you but personally i dont care if the bay goes mainstream. i dont care about what the rest of the world is listening to. i dont care about rappers not getting signed and staying independent. I'm not a rapper so it's not my pockets, and it aint yours either. bay area rappers need to do well locally before they do anything else. some don't even want to sign to a major anyway. and changing your lifestyle to appeal more to the masses doesn't mean the music is going to be any better...

LIKE SPICE 1 SAID IN HIS INTERVIEW, WE NEED TO GET ALL THE O.G BAY AREA LEGEND'S IN THE STUDIO TOGETHER AND MAKE SOME GOOD QUALITY MUSIC. THE O.G'S NEED TO TAKE THE NEW CATS OUT HERE UNDER THEIR WING AND TEACH THEM HOW TO PUT OUT SOME CLASSICS. AND IF ANYBODY COULD MAKE THIS POSSIBLE RIGHT NOW THAT WOULD BE BERNER. HE'S OUT HERE GRINDING HARD. BRING THE O.G'S TOGETHER BERNIE.

and stop worryin about what the next man is doin, its plenty of money in this world to be made..

that's how the pack got put on.
they had a hit then short guided them and gave them a little work ethic.
then again the pack ain't really town kids pushin drugs.

well

look at what im saying though.. Not every rapper has to go mainstream.. Im sure there are people who are content with just doin they local thing. thats cool, just keep it in your own backyard and quit playing with the game and other peoples careers. Its like muthafukkas are oversaturating the market right now. Its like muthafukkas putting out a gang of faulty dvd players that break quick and dont last. Then you have a quality company out there tryna push they product, but the markets flooded with so much bogus shit your chances are slim....I am also a known Artist who keep my opinions here open and my name private. I go outside my region for sales and promo. This is just so Im not caught up in the madness of the bay music scene. So I dont have a kid in a record store staring at 12,000,000 CD'S where only 100 are really worth listening too. This is where artists pockets get hurt. An Artist should be able to pull a certain amount of sales to stay on the floor shelfs...If not make there music available online or keep it on a computer generated list so when a customer comes in and happens to ask for the artist cd they can retrieve a copy from the storage room or wherehouse for that purchase... Its just an Idea...

Look at Coke and Pepsi. When u go into a store how many ads and cardboard promos do you see with there products on it????????many!

Look at Shasta, Sunny select, and sams club soda...Do they get the big spots and billboards and extra shelf space in 3 different parts of the supermarket?? No.

In all reality my idea would be good for the game in general. maybe it would clear up alot of nonsense and people would recognize the real unit movers. Also it would make lazy artists who rely on a website and myspace to get up and get there shit to sell before they get pushed to the wherehouse and placed on a catalog list for public viewing...

I guarentee you with a system like that, it will wake alot of people up.....for real.

1. You will have real hardwaorking talented artists seeing the fruits of there talent & labor

2. Many so-so artists will hopefully find another career

3. You & me the consumer wont have to be bothered with a million bums tryna look like mac dre (rip) thizz hyphy or lil wayne....

4. And the many things we have lost in the hip hop world will slowly but surely come back. To name a few...The excitement of a new albums release. The less downloading because people will want to buy a cd knowing they are getting there money's worth.
The spotlight coming back to the bay becuase we will stand out, and not because of the ignorance or a rapper being arrested for carrying 8,000 pills....
