why???????????????????????????????????????????????????????
I like the fact that I can use the SRX expansion boards
I been hooked on Groove Boxes for a minute now. The sound engine is better than what I have in the RS7000 ,and I'll use it as one of my Cubase controllers. Although I will need a controller for Mc-909 , if that makes any sense. I don't like the built in keyboard, can't transpose left or right. Basically, I think I can force some different types of grooves out of this than what most people are used to hearing. I like being different, and different gear forces you to work different ways. I'm pretty sure I can crank something totally different out of this, especially with the D-beam. Since I can't afford a V-Synth...this will have to do!

DOBERMAN.....I dont like groove boxes..so that settles that..no groovebox for you....haha...really though, after the mpc3000 I never looked back..also..i like roland sounds...there are some older synths like the classic roland 1080 wich excepts expansion cards...Your rs7000 can also get new sound from sample c.ds.....The other day i was thinking.....these bass patches on my motif rack are punks...then I went to motifator.com and they have custom sound banks for motifs....well my rack doesnt sample,or load up compatible disks, has no sequencer..Its just a sound module....however there are custom patches that are sold and you load it up via midi dump...Now i KNOW I can tweak and customize my own sounds, but besides being occupied by numerous hours on the sicc swapped out with watching t.v. and laziness..I never get around to it..its not like my jp8000 where i have a grip of knobs and sliders,I can make my custom sounds its fun that way...then again it aint like programming sounds on my tx81z...a fm synth...that synth you create sound by starting with no sound and picking algorithms, and then a shit load of other parameters...so to make a long story longer..i loaded these free sounds I found on there for my motif....the bass sounds aint no punks,...aint no moog...but at least respectable...alll i had to do was save the midi info that i downloaded from site...load it into my yamaha sound editor software on computer..press a few buttons on motif press send button on editor...ba bammm..128 new sounds...even a few good electric pianos,synths...so Your rs7000 can get some new sounds as well.....

I agree with 50cal as well...but roland does make good sounds, but some keyboarsd will also load up roland sounds...gotta check the compatability.Doberman when i had my rs7000..i paid 1500 out the door(including tax, insurance) i had the same mind frame..i wanted to be different and use something else....im not saying Im a good beatmaker, but I hear the difference in quality and how my beats sound....If I didnt have a mpc and they didnt make them i would get an ASR-10...sp1200...maybe even a mv8000..wich is cool but to me,having more functions doesnt mean its better...like when some small mixers like my yamaha mg16/4 they make one with effects....but they are not very good...so becomes somewhat useless. Some will say..get a computer to sample..you can do this that ..they will say that old machine only has a few seconds of sample time....but the older machine is gonna add character to the sound, while the computer will sound clean and sterile...some will say you can tweak,eq,emulate a lower sample bit rate...emulation is that...Id rather just sample and..Im good to go..i donty want to tweak, and twist just to try and get my sound a certain way..id rather get a machine that will get the job done...a few years back they were selling a demo model of the rs7000 for about 299..i was thinking of snatching it up..I did like some things about it

I have never touched an MPC outside of Guitar Center. I imagine once I get my hands on a 4000. I would invest in a gang of racks.(There is a V-Synth rack out,Takes up two spaces) and some sound cd's ...things will begin to crank up a notch. But since all I have ever used is RM1X and the RS , I don't know any better. Haven't been to Motifator.com in a minute , I'll see what's up. A more definite decision will be made in the next few months, gotta see how my chips stack with this webhosting company. See below.
