Hi all,


I'm looking to buy a car. I got $16,000 and I was gonna try and get a 2000 BMW 325i. I changed my mind tho, I'm trying to get either an old-school maro or a grand for cheaper and then fix it up. Anyone know any good classifieds for the Bay Area for these cars? I tried craigslist, and I got some good links. I'm thinking the paper might have some adds too, but I wanna try to find some more sellers on the net. Anyone know anyone personally who got one of these for sale?

Oh yea, what would ya'll rather have if ya had a choice? The Camaro or the National?

I got a mustang, but I'd still go with the camaro. But it all depends on u. both of them are gonna take a lot of time and money to keep them running. If its gonna be your only car, I'd recommend using your money on something more reliable. But I'm just more at a point in my life where I'd rather have something that aint gonna have something wrong with it all the time.

but if you know how to fix it yourself then it really doesnt matter as much. I barely know how to change the oil and I don't even do that myself anyways.

..that's the thing, the part that worries me most about muscle cars, in spite the fact that hey are dope as fuck, are still American pieces of shit. And like BayGiants mentioned, I don't really know shit about these types of cars. I just want something that not many people have these days, well not the people I know...

Dog, everybody knows old schools are gonna cost a lot of time money and energy than other cars, because AMERICAN CARS are notorious for being shitty. There, I said it again. They are gonna give you problems. You disagree with that? They are however, some of the dopest cars IMO. I also dont know much about the upkeep of them, I said that earlier. So in conclusion, fuck off.

Mattjoke got a point you will always be fixing something on any old school you get regardless of chevy, ford, pontiac, or oldsmobile. But it's how you take care of it. I damn near seen 20-25 old schools in my life . I wouldn't say they are piecees of american shit. put it this way you cop a 67-69 maro pop a ZZ4 or 502 thats hyphee out the crate and leave it as is you'll get less problems than running with the motor it got in it already. I got a 68 ss rs drop maro that gives me problems but its because I like actin a fool and know how to fix it regardless of the repairs.

^^^Yeah but the problems are easy. I was with this mechanic and he was teaching me shit and this one Nissan engine was so gay. The old school American are built pretty simple, but this even the cap and rotor was hella fucked cause you had to remove hella other shit to even work on it.

It's all personal preference, I like old schools but I prefer imports (stock but dropped w/rims I don't fuck with all that rice burner shit). It has to do w/ reliability, old schools will of course fuck up on you and maybe at the wrong times too. And you gotta put that into consideration as having it as your only ride. Plus cost of gas is a bitch, v8's will drain your tank and your pockets too. Also who knows where the price of gas will be a month from now, a year from now? It could sky rocket any moment. Also being educated, I believe american muscle should be banned along with SUV's, huge trucks and all them other gas hogs. Folks are ignorant about the environment and the critical damage it's causing. People don't know the statistics about gas and the ozone layer and what not. Ok I'm a stop now, I got carried away.

yall are hella stupid, a 95 impala ss gets 25mpg on a freeway, 98-2002 V8 camaro with a maunal, 28mpg BIG gas hogs there, educate your fucking selfs before going off stereotypes that aint been true since 1978. BTW i know of PLENTY of grand nationals over 150,000 with out any major $$$ put into them, sure tires, brakes, and all that, if you a retard who abuses car, NO car will last, but you might get a little more use out of a pussy jap crap tin can fwd death trap, cause they dont make enough power to hurt anything. It cant be qualified by the country of orgin of the motor manafacture, there is legendary motors from every manufactur.
