did u read what i wrote? i didnt say most of bay shit was mediocre..i said a lot of what is Given to ME is.. but what i get is only a small percentage of whats out there.. I have my personal favs, ive always been a Quinn fan since Come On In.. i like that new Messy Marv song.. I think Killa keise is ready to blow too.. but this is NOT a definitve list..theres cats out there that i aint heard of yet.. im not everywhere, i dont know everything..never said i did.. thas why im on this fuckin board in the first place...to find some new cats and give them a chance..

I play CAM cuz i like Cam... certain things go into ROTATION from the suits, but the mixshow is usually what we feel, and what the audience wants... the audience doenst want ALL bay.. they watch BET and shit and wanna hear that r kelly shit..

the bay IS comin back in a big way.. lot of OG artists are still doin it.. lot of new cats comin out hard.. it feels good.. we just try to show as much love as we can without upsetting our core audience... if u ever listen..ill play a 40 next to a Jay-Z song... yall get mad... why? to me..that is showing my audience that 40 is EQUAL to Jay-Z, even tho he aint got specials on MTV or whatever... feel me?

I feel you Scottie, but I was wounderin was what do you think about the other local artist that kmel are playin like Keak, The Frontline, The Team,EA-SKI and The Federation (even though they from Alabama they reppin the Yay...it's all good)? When I first posted on here that I did radio I got ALOT of flack. Those who are getting rotation where I'm at (and yeah that includes F.E.) are getting it because the songs are solid and they spent TIME on the project. You think that commercial radio just plays any "crunk" shit they get their hands on?? There's 1,000 more garbage records that never SEE the airwaves...

But a typed cover letter and bio with a flyer is professional as well. You have to take yourself seriously before anyone else will. Take some pride in your music by paying attention to the little things like that.

Ok Ive been gone making moves i havent had a chance to post on bart but here it goes! Some wont like this post but FUCK IT!
First off its been alot of hating giong on in the Bay about Done Deal and THE FEW little spins we get on kmel (especially from artist/labels in the east Bay) Its like this Mind Motion, Von, Scotty, Short-E, Sana, Chuy, Drew, Erock, are all Friends of mine! Most years before Done Deal & KMEL! But that dont matter im gunna say over 95% of the shit that comes out of the bay is TERRIBLE! MY personal opinion! And what i mean about that is when you compare it to other regions, not to other Bay artist thats the main thing thats wrong we be comparing our shit to what he doin in the O, to what he doin In the Sco to what he doin in the V, when we(DD) make our music we trying to see how it compares to the niggas thats winning,(Jay Z, 50, South) how does your sit compare to their music cuz like it or not THEY ARE WINNNING! The Bay is scared of change as much as trendsetters that we are we are the biggest followers! WE DONT support out own so why should clear channel? Jay Z scans over 100,000 records here damn near every album but Quinn, keek whole album sell 20,000? why shouldnt they play Jay obviously cuz of sales the majority wanna hear Jay they dont buy Quinn radio spins videos spins all that is based on #'s The south is on top for several reasons 1. is THEY SUPPORT THEIR OWN!!!!!!!!! 2. Their music hits hard! Heavy bass lines thats all they are lyrical but shit neither is 50 cent is how your track hits and how ya ride the beat now a days adjust to times guys! yall need to read what chuck wrote and really think about it. if you give kmel something to play and they dont play it, the only reason is because it is weak. it is not because they are hating on the bay.
the only thing I would add is the local radio stations have a duty IMO to help out the local artists because if someone locally blows, it would benefit them a lot. the fact that it took them this long to make a 2 hour slot on a sunday night for an all bay show is bullshit. that is why I say fuck KMEL. and by KMEL i meant the corporate people, not the djs. all the djs seem to understand this and try hard to get them on.
