    If instruments were weapons...

I would, but I don't download music anymore because I always end up going hog-wild and downloading a bunch of stuff infested with viruses in addition to music. I'm eventually just going to buy the whole album though. I am really curious to hear it.

    If instruments were weapons...

I think I'd go with Pantera. They'd blow everything up, and Phil ain't no punk!

    Opeth

I just got Damnation in the mail today. It sounded like a good album but I was playing it in the background while reading something, so I wasn't paying much attention. For now I like Ghost Reveries better, but I'm going to give Damnation another listen a little later and see how it sounds then...

    pearl jam (self titled)

No, we've got both of those. I liked AIC's unplugged better for a long time, but I'm starting to like Nirvana's a little more now..probably because I haven't listened to it nearly as much. I think he's just getting old and doesn't know what he's talking about lol. Anyway, back to the thread...

    pearl jam (self titled)

I don't want to hijack your thread but I have a quick question about Pearl Jam: do they have an unplugged album. My pops tells me they have a great one but I've never seen it. Plus he's getting a little old, so I think his mind might be playing tricks on him.

    Opeth

So I got to the end. I'm really feeling this album. Oddly enough the clean vocals are probably my least favorite part, but that's not to say they're bad. Tracks 1, 5, and 7 appealed to me most on the first listen. I don't know about the last song though:ermm:

    Opeth

I'm on the second track right now, just drinking beer, smoking a dubee, and soaking this in. I'm puzzled by how people are turned off and even disgusted by this kind of music without even looking into how much thought and how well the musicianship is in it. Dope album though. The changing vocal...

    Opeth

Right on everyone for the help. And endless props to psilo on the album:) . I'll let you know what I think of it when I get a chance to listen. I've heard of Katatonia but never heard their music. I'll try to check them out too.

    Opeth

Can anyone recommend me some of thier music. I just ordered Damnation because I was in the mood for something dark and mellow, but I understand they also make pretty heavy music. I think I've seen a few people on this board talk about them (a star impaled??), so help me out if you can folks. Thanks.

    DUB

Right on ya'll. That Royals song is off an album called "Dubbing With the Royals" and is definately worth picking up. Every track is top quality dub. I think they have another album but I've never heard it before. My uncle burned this (Royals dub) for me so I don't have the booklet, but I read...

    DUB

Check out some Prince Jammy/King Jammy (same person), he does some great dub. If I get a chance I'll post up a track tomorrow. There's an album produced by Scratch Perry from a cat named Max Romeo called "War Ina Babylon" which is a dope ass album. I think Nuttkase pretty well laced you with...

    Blackalicious Alphabet Aerobics

What a dope ass song. I don't generally listen to hip hop, but I came across this one the other day and was very impressed. Two thumbs up. What else does he/they (group or solo?) have that's worth a listen?

    Muse

Not really my type of music, but my sister is a fan so I've heard some of their shit. Some I liked, some I didn't..it was mostly certain sections of songs that I liked, rather than the whole thing.

    Music and its future...

I was shrooming last night and wrote up a big, long response to this question, but instead of clicking "post reply", I clicked the X on my internet browser. So, I will just say this: music will never die. Music is like all art in that it is a reflection of culture; no matter how superficial or...
