My post had nothing to do with being successful. It was simply stating that people will still listen to your music. No offense to Papoose, but i couldn't care less whether he makes it or not. I just like his music.

Success is also subjective. We all have different ideas of what is successful and what isnt. While it may be dictated by the environment, personal success is all in the mind.
Same...

90s babies need not apply to this thread!
you realize he started rapping in the mid 2000s right?

That's fucking stupid..why do we have to be delusional just because we check for older artists who still make music today? This goes for any fan of an artist that likes more than just 1 or 2 songs of theirs. if they like the artists music, they will check them out, whether it be buying or downloading. Doesn't matter.

I'm not a fan of "Sac Rap"...I like some artists from Sac, just as I do NY, San Diego, ATL, LA, etc. Its about the artists and who I feel or felt made dope music over the years. I have followed Pap's mixtapes all these years and have enjoyed them for the most part, so in my mind I am checking out an artist I actually like, who still drops dope music, so why wouldn't I check out his album, no matter how long it took to drop? If I don't like his music anymore then I wont listen, but if I liked his last effort or majority of his efforts then I will give him a shot again. Pretty simple concept to me.

how he miss his wave when he got out his deal and kept the two million dollars, he still getting six for a verse and he has shows every week and he be on radio doing interviews, he never changed his style to sell out so he didnt miss too much of a wave he doing better in life then you are. he just dropping his shit indy on his own label so like i said who cares on what his buzz is he still one the best respected lyricsts. he a fulltime father and his wife in prison so he took lots of time off to deal with those issues imo that means he a solid, loyal person with morals. remember family should always be first bc when shit gone they gonna be the only thing you have.

i never understood why regular people always be worried about a rappers success or income when in reality they can sell 1000 copies and still have more money then most people that be commenting on them. to me its about the music not what they have in they pockets.

Well like I Pukokeki Ioulo Momu stated very accurately, success is subjective. So by my personal definition of success, Pap has a long way to go, and IMO missed his chance to get there.

If it is was just about the music, these guys would be giving their music away. But they don't, they sell it, because it's also about the business.

My commenting on his missed opportunity in no way implies I am worried about him personally, any more than you commenting about the lastest news about the Undertaker implies you are worried about him personally. We are people, we are social, we talk about shit to talk about shit.

Be easy man.

i could be wrong but he made his one of his first appearances (that i know of) on Kool G Rap's "Roots Of Evil" album the track "Home Sweet Funeral Home" that dropped back in October of 98. pick that album up.... I believe that "Thug Connection" w/AZ & G Rap was the b side to "alphabet slaughter" single that dropped in 99, i could be wrong. gotta go find my cassette single. both tracks are fire.

You're the one who came in the thread with the sneak diss/sly dig. 20 replies in & ces is the only one who has mentioned the quality of the tape so this is all irrelevant to an extent anyway.

I was never really a Papoose fan. I don't have anything against him but I've never felt the need to listen to any of his mixtapes. The argument in the thread is completely retarded. Pap had a strong mixtape buzz going from 04-06 but after not dropping an album he went the same place Saigon went: to nobodygivesafuck land. This album is only gonna sell a small fraction of what it would have in 06. Just like Greatest Story Never Told.

Anyway this album doesn't do anything for me. Some of the songs are alright but nothing really stood out as being that good and hows he gonna rap about wearing bandaids so you don't give people AIDS and curing cancer than have the next song about bling bling? I feel like he's trying too hard to be Biggie especially on the first few tracks. This album didn't turn me into a fan.

he had a lot personal stuff going on that's what held him back. this a fresh new recorded album and not the one he recorded in 2007 for jive. but I can careless on how many people download or buy it all I care about is the music and I'm glad this finally dropped.
I thought I heard somewhere it was the same album, but updated. I like the what I heard from hearing 50% of the album. But I can't even stunt, he brought Heatmakers back, Dame Grease, Buckwild, Alechmist, Premier and some other no-names that actually produced some CRACK on here (The Joint With Mobb Deep & that Lloyd Banks sample in the hook).

It MAY be touching Saigons debut....I'm not going to lie, I doubted Papoose was going to top that album, but this is well sequened in that manner.

solid album after my first run thru - pap is on point with his flows (seems like he's more focused because this is finally the official album) and the production is nice. best part is alphabetical slaughter 2 - they even reversed the beat haha - dope to see his career come full circle.
