Rapper Yukmouth of Rap-A-Lot Records Arrested, Bail Set At $40k

Earlier today MemphisRap.com was contacted and told by a source that Smoke-A-Lot Records/Rap-A-Lot Records recording artist Yukmouth of Oakland, California was arrested for an outstanding warrant. MemphisRap.com has confirmed the information that Jerold Ellis "Yukmouth" was indeed arrested on Sunday, June 3, 2007. The Los Angeles Sheriff Department told MemphisRap.com that the rapper was charged with a misdemeanor traffic charge, yet bail was set at $40,000.
The LAPD also told MemphisRap.com that the rapper was arrested for driving on a suspended license. The sources that contacted MemphisRap.com stated that the rapper was arrested around 4:30 AM, which was confirmed and he was booked at 6:49 AM. An official from the LAPD stated that the rapper was still in jail after 4:00 PM on today.
Representatives of Rap-A-Lot Records were unavailable at the time of his arrest.
In related news, Yukmouth is currently working on his forthcoming album "Million Dollar Mouthpiece" which is slated for a Summer 2007 release.

MemphisRap.com caught up with Rap-A-Lot Records rapper Yukmouth's manager, Kat Gaynor, about Yukmouth's recent arrest which resulted in Yukmouth being held on bond for $40,000. It seems that Yukmouth was simply on his way to Mels Drive-In on W Sunset Blvd in Hollywood, CA to pick up food after a long night when he was apprehended and arrested on Sunday, June 3, 2007. At the time of the rapper's arrest, he was charged with driving on a suspended license and held for an outstanding warrant. Gaynor told MemphisRap.com that the outstanding warrant was originally from a DUI and gun case.
"Some of the classes weren't complete on the case and so they sent his file back to court," stated Gaynor.
The rapper is stated to be still locked in the Los Angeles jail system.
When asked about Yukmouth's forthcoming album, "Million Dollar Mouthpiece," Gaynor told MemphisRap.com that the rapper has 4 more songs to complete before the release of the album which will be releasing on Rap-A-Lot Records in September 07 instead of Summer 07 as mentioned in a recent report.
Yukmouth will also be touring with E-40 on the "Grown and Manish Tour" starting in July.

I dont know what tv shows yall been watchin, but a gun charge really aint shit. I got popped wit a 1/2 oz of chronic and a .45 and i was locked up for 6 days. When i finally saw the judge, he released me on house arrest until my next court date. When i went to court, they dropped the ccw from a felony to a misdemeanor, which resulted in fines. I got more fines for the weed then the strap.
