Ive been a tech fan for along time but this EP should have stayed lost. Last sad song is the only half way decent track to me.

I dont know Tech as of late seems like he just does songs to do them, it does not seem like the he takes the time he use to. Everyone changes and grows in life and I do not expect any two albums of any artist to sound the same, but the quality of beats has been on a down slide, choruses are basic and bland, Tech still had lyrics but the subject matter as of late has been extremely repetitive, Tech seems to be playing it safe and is not making the songs that he use to make, it reminds me of Quentin Tarantino making Jackie Brown after Pulp Fiction...

My 2 cents...

My homie said the same thing. I totally agree with you. He's not putting much emotion into his shit. I think the beats are dope, however.

I saw this recent interview with Tech and a question was asked "Do you think of a song concept first and then try to find a beat to fit that concept, or do you let the beat tell you the concept the song is gonna have?" Tech answered "I let the beat tell me what the song is gonna be about, back in the day I used to think of the concept first and search for the right beat tho"

I feel maybe he should go back to doing that, think of the concept first and then find the beat. Maybe that would help him in finding better shit... I also think he needs to find new producers to work with, hes maxed out Seven and all them way too much. Although maybe its just Techs taste isnt as great. Cuz I see those producers making beats for other people that are hella sicc. I think he is looking for new ones now or already found em... We will see how the new collabs album turns out later this year....

I let the beat influence me. That's the best way to write lyrics. Writing a song first and then finding a beat for it is unnatural. It just doesn't fit right when you spit to a beat which you had no intention of writing to in the first place.

I totally disagree. Thats what ametuers do. Sounds like you letting the beat make you.

It should be the other way around. write solid lyrics then make or find a beat that suites it. just my two cent

Believe me, I'm no amateur, and neither is Tech. This is how I do it: I get the idea for the type of song I want to write. Next, I find a good beat that suits the concept, and then I write to it. It makes my delivery much better. If you write the lyrics first, you might be off beat when you spit it to the track. That's why I think that's the amateur way of writing music. Any good musician creates the melody first, then writes the lyrics, especially in Hip-Hop, unless they're good at doing it the other way. If you don't believe me, try it. You'll notice your improvements (that is, if you do rap).

now i also have a loyal group of friends who follow me around and carry my things for me, and they call me 'sir' so everyone thinks im really important
