I think the expectation 4 thiz CD just went thru the roof & thatz why people are so dissapointed. If this was just a young nigga comin outta Sac wit no hype attatched 2 hiz name, niggaz would probably be all over it.

I remember when Doggystyle dropped back in 1993. I was 16 years old @ the time & it was the most highly anticpated hip hop debut EVER. Even till this day. When it dropped people rushed 2 go get it & when they finally heard it they weren't blown away like they thought they would be. Everyone liked it but it wasn't an instant classic like the masses hoped for. I remember that shit like it was yesterday. I think fans of Bop were pumping him up too hard. We should of just expected him 2 deliver a good album instead of an instant classic.

Comparing Doggystyle and Handsome Ghetto is goin a bit overboard. I thyink alot of people would disagree with you about it not being an instant classic. I thought and still think Doggystyle is classic and when it dropped, you could hear it in every passing car for months.

This, on the other hand, was just misleading. This kid has that flowmaster spits and he drops something which is lyrically subpar and flow wise is nothing exciting. The fact is, even if i didnt know who he was, i would STILL think this album is :ermm: . The beats are cool, the lyrics are :ermm:....the only thing savin this in any manner is the features.

I'm not comparing Handsome Ghetto 2 Doggystyle. Read my post again.

Doggystyle DID get major play but it was overhyped. Like I said, I remember when it dropped & people were expecting an instant classic & it wasn't. It turned out 2 be but it wasn't at first. People pushed that CD into oblivion & thatz why it got played az muchbaz it did. Not takin nothing away from it but Doggystyle didn't blow people away right away like everyone thought it would.

You are comparing the HYPE. In no way, shape or form is the hype for this album even a FRACTION of the hype of Doggystyle. Young Bop is barely known outside of Sac and I can bet you barely ANYONE knows this album is even out. Doggystyle was playing leaked songs BEFORE the net was even popular...THAT is hype.

My point is, you cant even mention these 2 in the same breathe. Whats next, The Chronic's hype compared to Young Droop's new album?

Doggystyle DID get major play but it was overhyped.
Says who? You?

Like I said, I remember when it dropped & people were expecting an instant classic & it wasn't.
Thats YOUR opinion. As I said, I can find MANY people who would STRONLY disagree with you.

It turned out 2 be but it wasn't at first.
See above.

See above the see above.

Obvioulsly our opinons differ greatly on both subjects. IMHO, this albums "hype" was miniscule compared to Doggystyle and shouldnt even be mentioned in the same sentence. IMHO, this album was below average and very disappointing.

U took everything I said out of context. In no way shape or form was I comparing Bops hype 2 Snoop Doggs. I was saying that maybe hiz fanz(including myself 2 an extent) overhyped it too much & thiz shit just kind of reminded me of how Doggystyle was hyped & it DID NOT deliver right away 2 a lot of peoples ears. Like I said before, everyone I knew liked it from day one but they had expected so much more. Do u get what I'm trying to say now? I'm not even really talkin about me cuz I never really gave a fuck about Snoops music like that but even music critics(im not saying I agree with them but I'm just using them az an example) felt that didn't give us what we longed for either though hiz debut was more then solid.
