I got some questions, I got hurt at work, I actually didnt wanna file a claim but they made me because I verbally said I got hurt on the job. Just a back sprain but its gonna cost the company 10 grand lol.. could my hours get cut, or can I get fired for "another" reason? because It says its illegal to get fired for getting hurt on the job unless it was due to drugs or if you were fuckin around

your employment is "at-will" from the moment you started most likely...they can decide they just dont need you anymore since youre costing them more than they are probably making off your lazy ass.
10 grand aint shit in hospital bills, thats like 2 advils, an icepack and some filipina lady taking your blood pressure.

they can cut your hours down...why not, you have already proven you cant work without gettng hurt and they will treat you like a girl from now on. they cant fire you for getting hurt, but they can all of a sudden decide you havent been performing like you should and take action. Or they could just decide your position in no longer needed.
Layoff are pretty common for injured workers, most people end up homeless and smoking black tar heroin out of coke cans within a few months. Its pretty common for injured workers to get fired though, seriously...who wants to have a crippled lil girl work for them?

Id be more worried about them sending someone to finish you off, if some muthafucka just cost me 10 grand cause he fucked up HIS back, there might possibly be a gas leak at his house and he might accidently light a cigarette and he might accidently blow himself and all the evidence to smithereens.

the thing is is that the company doesn't cut your hours, it's the doctor. then you have about six weeks to recover, i believe, then your company is gonna ask you if you can get back to work. if you still can't perform to companies expectations then they could look into cutting you.even then, it's not the company that cuts you, it's the doctor. as long as the doctor says you can work at a moderate level you still have a job. but if they say you can't then the company has no choice but to cut you. or then you can file for stress leave or fmla and you can keep your job, but they just give you six additional weeks to 9 months i believe

yup them pallets of kilos fucked me up, got me a "thoracic sprain" I steal the boxes off camera, so im all good!

it was never that serious tho, they makin me do all this shit, I was able to go back to work the next day.. there's a black car parked out front, but I think thats my car

As long as you do your job based on the hours the doc allows you to work you are fine. People who get fired when being on workers comp are the ones that think they can do whatever they want because they r on it and that's not the case. My homegirl was on it for 6 months, but they did try and bust her out on shit...A LOT. So don't give em a reason to fire you or write you up, come to work on time, do your job and you will be good fam.

If they cut your hours because of your injury you should be paid wage loss benefits if they fire you for any reason you can sue for violation of labor code 132a so most employers won't fire anybody with an active workers compensation claim. They can however wait until your claim is settled and find a reason to fire you without exposure to the 132a law suite.
