Damn Wood, I gotsta give you props homeboy. I drove from Daly City to Rock Bottom to cop NE 5 cuz I knew I wouldn't disappointed, and of course, I wasn't. But what did it for me? Norte Sidin' II.
Consider this a mini-review of the song; I'm still checkin out the rest and hopefully will post more about it. But here it is for Norte Sidin 2.
I ain't heard many sequels to songs, but Wood pulled this one excellent. It's like 4 1/2 minutes for straight flow. Wood spits lightning fast about how it is 6 years since it all began wit Norte Sidin 1. Wood spits 3 verses, and I think it's Megan who does the background vocals during the chorus (she says "Norte Sidin'" at the end of the chorus) and a little bit near the end before the final chorus. The beat is a little reminiscent of part 1, but it's more upbeat and has more instrumental to it. Verse 1 begins like part 1 "som more pride north side of the golden state" but the rest is different. The only parts of the chorus thats the same is "Livin in the skirts of the east bay co co..." and "... flared up, tearin' it up, norte sidin!" with some minor variations, but the rest of the chorus is different.
Wood gives much love to all of Northern Cali, esp. in the 3rd verse when he straight up reps like 20 northern cali cities in like half a minute, if that. Like I said, the song is rapid fast but Wood pulls it off well and wit clarity. ***14 out of 10*** (I can't get enough of this shit. hehe)
Good shit Wood.. Stay up homie..
Peace...
