All God ever asks is belief in what he accomplished on the cross. Genesis states that Abram's belief was considered to him righteousness. I say this to answere the question why are Christians listening to Tech N9ne? Because I am free. Free to do, say, and listen to what I want. The Apostle Paul states in Romans that everything is permissable, because of the blood of Jesus. His life for my life. His righteousness for my sin.

I believe I have a soul because God said so, and it doesn't matter if man wrote it, it was inspired by God. If I tell you that I communicate with God daily through prayer It's because I receive counsel in my spirit.
If God spoke audibly no one would believe it was God anyways. They would think that they were crazy, or everybody else crazy, or that E.T. had gotten a hold of em.

Here is where the debate seperates from scientific theory. The believer uses a system of scientific verification, Biblical truth, and ones own relationship with God. The three aspects form a strong belief system. This solidifies a belief that doesn't rest on one premise alone.
This is why the believer cannot be proven wrong or disassembled on any one of the three aspects of his belief. If you create doubt in one area, believers are still very strong in at least two others.

Unbelievers (Atheist) on the other hand are based entirely on discrediting the believers doctrines, mostly by stating that they were created by man.
The Atheist belief is one dimensional like Twista. The God believer is multi-faceted like Tech N9ne (which one is greater.) The Atheist argument implodes because its one dimension is to discredit God by discrediting the rationality and integrity of man. However, they turn around and use the same source to build their arguments; political, conniving, just straight up scandalous-(man).
This is what theologians call being self-referentially absurd. Atheism; your argument are crushed, and deprived of oxygen by their own (weight)mandate.

The word of God, the relationship with him, and science to back up what God has said forms a strong tripod of support for the believers beliefs.
No one legged kick-stand like the atheist whoe's argument becomes too heavy to support its own weight. Prove that the word of God is not true.
Prove that God has not done, and is not doing, what he said he'd do. Check history, and check the book of Daniel and Isaiah. Check the current world events and check the book of Revelation. Russia and Iran are on a collision course with Isreal and it will happen, because God said it would!

I am a strong believer in Jesus/GOD, but even if i wasnt, this does make a lot of sense...

I personally rather take my chances on believing there is a god with hopes of making it to heaven, than not believing and just dying...especially if the things the Bible teaches are tips on how to live a "better" or "prosperous" life here on earth...Now if the Bible teached kill people instead of loving your neighbor, then I would definately have a problem with it..But like I said, the bible teaches "good" or should I say "healthy" things..IMO, even for non believers...The teachings seem common sense, but in today's society, I'm not sure there is a such thing as common sense anymore....

No disrespect towards anyone, but out of the 2 choices, I rather believe than not to believe...In the end I ask myself, what have I got to lose in believing in GOD? Honestly, Absolutely nothing...

i respect peoples options for being an atheist but i got a questiong. Why would you go through life knowing that in the the end you will die and then there will be nothing. If i didnt believe in God i would literally kill myself of alcohol poisoning because i would not see any point in living. Another thing how can you die and then there be nothing i dont see how that works.

Life is too complicated to just be dead.

Yes i am a believer, just because you cant see it, or hear it or touch it doesnt mean it doesnt exsist, if you have no faith, and refuse to believen God or any other type of higher power, then thats you, i wont judge you, i am not the one too

absence of religion does not mean absense of god

sometime along the line religion(s) was manipulated. and to use christian symbolism, who "manipulates" and "controls" the world? well, the lord of the earth ie. satan.

churches aren't "bad". sometimes people need community and to get together and focus on something positive. but once you start thinkin in terms of "MY god" and "MY culture", you're starting to build walls around yourself and that's when it starts getting dangerous. because language is a powerful thing... it affects your reality.

people should at least realize that the same treacherous and murderous organization, the roman empire and its' legacy, is responsible for killing and conquering peaceful peoples around the globe in the name of religion, and they're the ones that decided which scriptures would be deleted and which would be cencored and which would be kept in the official book of the christians.

i don't know... just my thoughts

Thats my views of it also, and we aint even mentioning the kings that had it rewritten

I respect every one of you that has posted in this thread....well maybe except the ones who puts up a brick wall and insist they are an all-knowing omnipotent being.....and if you respond to that comment, it just shows you have a guilty conscience....I didn't name names...

I think it would be very very interesting to see Tech N9ne weigh in on this topic...I mean, I know he stops by every now and then....I would understand why he wouldn't though, in fear of alienating those who don't see things the way he does...and I respect that as well....

I haven't meant to put down anyone or their beliefs....and if I did, I'm sorry...maybe we could talk more in depth sometime in another situation...I just felt like there were a few out there who might have been like I was at one time...no hope of anything.....and if that is what you choose to keep as your view, then that's ok....

To be honest, I love everyone really....I mean everyone has differences in opinions, beliefs, etc....but that's the beauty of mankind...we all got to be here together regardless of the purpose...so it seems to me like we should have discussions like this to maybe come up with answers...

Tech N9ne is an inspiration to me.....and that's why I'm on this board....it isn't to make enemies, or talk shit about someone...but to share that love of an artist and his work...

therefore, I'll follow JL and say I'm done with this thread....for now at least....I'm not gonna play the part of "religous nazi" that so many of you want to turn me into....cuz that aint me.....if anyone wants to hit me up about anything though, feel free...I'm always willing to listen and discuss what my research has shown me...as well as gain more knowledge from you....

one...

I truly learned from the responses of everyone here. I respect that opinions were thought out, and not just antagonistic. I think we all let people know where we stand, but people change all the time.
JL, we from the same place. My church is the large one at a major intersection starts with Christ. I grew up on rap music. won a talent show when I was fifteen. Now I am thirty three and Tech is the only rapper I still listen to, and I must admit, I only play a few songs on each of his cds.
I don't want to be alienated from everyone I grew up with. My partners and I cannot always hang at the same spots, but we do football games, basketball, and stuff I can still just have fun at. Any doctrine that takes the pleasure out of living life is a doctrine from hell. It's the state of the heart that I am more concerned with, than it is what we are doing at the moment. Whatever the heart desires, actions will eventually follow.
There are other pastors out their that would probably like to pimp slap me themselves, But it's not just what momma or daddy said, or what the old preacher said, but it is what the doctrine of the gospel truly says in its essence. Christ's church does a lot of good in the inner core of Wyandotte,
and where I fall short I pray for strength. If it's a sin just to listen then Iam guilty, alot would agree with you, but until the conviction falls strong on me from heaven, I say gett'em Tech N9ne!

Very well said! What have you got to lose by being a good person and following God and Jesus? I mean, wouldn't most rather be safe than sorry? Certainly, one has much more to lose by choosing not to believe. Some out there would say "oh well" or something along those lines... God and his creation is too much for a man's mind to handle.

Again with all due respect, untrue, Christians believe you are supposed to TRY to be Christ like, Christians believe we are born in an imperfect world, and that we are imperfect ourselves, Christianity, is about trying to be a better person, and knowing you will stumble along the way, we have a figure in Jesus that is our standard that we try to live up to.

Let's say that the Jesus the bible teaches about is just a made up figure, designed to get people to be forgiving, kind, and all around good people.
What is the harm in that?

Oh and I doubt God or Jesus would listen to ANY music made in these days and times. And I believe the pimp slap would never quite happen being as that God allows you to make your own choices, he just gives you the guidelines. IMO.
