My upbringings, teachings, and life experiences in conjunction w/ our peoples history & my faith... Faith that our endeavors will flourish, faith that those who (since the beginning of history) question, despise, detest, deny our bloodline & will not rest until we are eradicated eventually accepts the fact that people are people, bottom line, and we’re all part of the same family. All humans are part of a greater ONE. I have faith that not all is bad, and divinity still exists, it’s just buried deep (maybe even lost) within the hearts of humans. I do not associate any formal images/idols with the creator (especially NOT in the form of another human being), rather God is an omnipotent, all being, omnipresent force who can be vengeful or full of mercy…. As hokey or cliché as it sounds, whether I am at Shul, or at my home or other suitable sanctuary and in prayer, I get a mental, physical, and spiritual feeling which can only be described as a DIVINE presence
Hashem's true name is not to said out loud, possibly b/c we don't know the true pronunciation, or b/c we don't have the divine purity to justify saying it aloud. (ya know, maybe a respect thing, like (most) not calling their parents by their formal names)....
In terms of the relationship, I feel it is important to give thanks for the food, shelter, and peace that I am personally blessed with daily, and pray that all others will be able to one day share the same comforts.
However, when things/life events turn out with less than desirable circumstances, I don't ask 'Why God, why have you done this to me/us/them?' but rather 'Please help to give me the strength and fortitude to handle _____ !'
God alone should not be an excuse for one’s success’ or failures, people, as human beings need to be accountable for their own actions.
